We don't want to peak too early. #keepthelidon
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Saints eye top spot
IF we beat Shytme and Footscray then we are definite premiership contenders.
Reasons being:
1. Our form
3. Spluttering form of those above us
3. Possibly the stupid bye week after Round 23 which would help refresh a young side like ours.
Point 3 is probably the main thing that could get a team from outside the 8 to a flag in a year, as ridiculous as that sounds.
Massive challenge to win the next 2 - may require a few changes unless the boys can mentally keep themselves "up" for two more rounds. The bye week at the start of June comes at the perfect time for us and should be used as motivation to push hard for 2 more wins.

Re: Saints eye top spot
I think one of the reasons the top sides are faultering is the mid-season extra training load. They know they will be there or thereabouts top 4, are loading up in terms of training now and will be much better for it come finals.

Spot on.stevie wrote:the problem now though with the silly bye before the finals is that being top 4 ain't ever gonnna be how it used to be
But it's all about money, and having a nothing week of meaningless PC football games post round 23 means the interest level and attendances in week 1 of the finals are much higher.
The AFL get all finals gate revenue so it's the only time they care about match day attendance

OMG. No chance.
DOGS v GWS grand final. They are easily the best two teams and will peak at the right time. Watch the dogs. Theyvare amazing. They went to WCE and just lost. Another 15mibutes they wouldve won that game by 4 goals and without their WHOLE FORWARD LINE!!
Cloke stringer dickson crameri - OUT
Walllis, Roughead - OUT
Imagine we had membrey bruce mcartin billings acres and longer OUT then went to wce and badically smashed em around the ground for most part.
Keep the lid firmly on we are 6-10 at best this year.
IF we get JKelly (which we will) 2018 is top 4 for us.

Re: Saints eye top spot
We went to WC and belted them for basically the entire game all the time being reamed by the umpires.

Our small injury list is definitely one of our big strengths.

Re: Saints eye top spot
Not sure finishing top 4 is even a good thing with the pre-finals bye in place ready to kill any momentum you had.
