Sandy started looking better at the end of that quarter as they started linking up and getting each other into the game. Pretty even performance. Paddy has been impressive with his efforts and clever use of the footy. Marshall struggled a bit in that quarter. Lonie still working hard and being clever. Freeman getting a bit of it but not showing much speed at all. Rice was great. White showed a bit. Long looks a real type - still skinny as all hell but just clever and opportunistic - players will love playing with him as creates things. Goddard doing ok - was too clever with a kick but at least he's trying to keep possession. Haven't seen NOK much. Coughlan hasn't been involved much. Dusntan 6 clearances started taking control in the middle using his strength - his ball use can still be pretty ordinary.

Coughlan more involved than suggested IMO otherwise spot on.Bluthy wrote:Sandy started looking better at the end of that quarter as they started linking up and getting each other into the game. Really unimpressive
Tough conditions, but that's for both teams... Nth Ballarat are a 20 goal inferior VFL team.
Umpiring horrendous as usual in the VFL

A little dash from Freezer, with a nice, accurate kick to boot.

Long with a goal. We've got a few players who have real eyes for the goal - Long, Gresham, Billings, Weller, WRight. Good to have lots of goal scorers

They've lost their previous two games by more than 20 goals, so they've probably been instructed to just do one thing and do it well, make sure they limit the opposition's uncontested possessions and space, and when a side applies pressure and is uncompromising about their attack on the man with the footy, good things can happen. We used to do this sometimes in 2002.BigMart wrote:Really unimpressive

Having said that, I expect the Roosters to fall away in the last.

Even though the team hasn't played that well, I've seen more glimpses of individual talent than I have for years at this level. Marshall, Long, DMac, White, Lonie ( I know some will say he's only a VFL player), Paddy, even Holmes. Good signs everyone.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

We're a couple down on the bench Lagrice and Hickey - key players for us. So actually doing ok.
