Votes Saints v Giants
5. Billy Longer - I doubt any one else will give him a vote, but I think he was terrific
4. Seb Ross - stood up in the second half as the dominant mid fielder
3. Dylan Roberton - the class act on the back line
2. Blake Acres- made a couple of blues but created all over the ground
1. Jade Gresham - proved there is no substitute for skill
Others - Jack Steven (if he could only make his possessions count), Jack Sinclair (did you see that left foot 40m pass), Leigh Montagna (some solidity early ) and Koby Stevens (he doesn't make too many errors).

Re: Votes Saints v Giants
Sam Gilbert had a really good game despite a few changers early... playing him as a good old fashioned ruck over seems to be ideal in maximising his strengths and minimising his weaknesses
Gets to a lot of contests... lays a few bumps and tackles, but he's very good at get a few taps forward, or hand to a contest etc.

5. Roberton (one of the best players in comp now)
4. Longer (nullified Mummy)
3. Steven (Came good when it was needed)
2. Ross (great last quarter)
1. Acres (hard man to takle, sets up a lot of play)
Mentions to Sinclair who showed a lot of class with the ball, Billings, but still needs to kick those goals
Hard to pick really , as it was team effort, and that's what wins games.

5. Seb Ross, sometimes time stands still when he has the ball.
4. Jack Steven/
3. Dylan Roberton.
1. Koby Stevens.
1. Jade Gresham. Great last quarter.
1. Billy Longer. Played well all day. We should'nt hear many calling for Hickey's return after tonights effort.
Changed my mind. Gresham out. Sinclair in for 1 vote. He was good all night.

Re: Votes Saints v Giants
5 J Steven - thought he was the one that kept creating things from the midfield with his speedy juice even when we looked like we were struggling a bit in the first half. Take him out we maybe don't win.
4 Longer - wore down Mummy who was reduced to going sideways at the ruck as he could barely jump anymore (not that he jumps much anyway). Longers jumping was really impressive. And took a brilliant contested mark. Is definitely improving despite the Longer-haters no doubt trying to explain away his influence and whinging about his lack of possessions. He is a ruck not a midfielder.
3 Ross - loving the sense of responsibility he is showing with Armo out. Is now our rock of gibralter in the middle. And is using the ball well often setting up scoring opportunities
2 Billings - the crazy thing is you feel Billings is still being sloppy and playing at 50%. And yet he kicks 2 goals (should have had 2 more at least), 22 possies and six marks. This kid could be anything if he can take his consistency with the ball up a notch
1 Blacres - stepped up in the second half when the game needed winning. Is an aerial threat that stretches the oppo defences to breaking point. Could be our Petracca - so we now have Paddy (#playpaddy) and Petracca - me likey

Re: Votes Saints v Giants
5 - Gilbert - inspirational. Did everything he could, never lost a contest nullified any advantage in the ruck and played his guts out
4 - Webster - becoming a quarterback for us, sets us up well off the back line
3 - Ross - whoever said this guy was slow? His ability to move through traffic and burn off tacklers today was outstanding. Needs to learn where the big sticks are though
1 - Longer - could not have asked for more from the big man tonight, walked all over mummy
1 - billings - looked ominous all game, once he starts kicking more goals, Bont comparisons will stop. Slow burn though
1 - Acres - was very disappointed with his first half, but looked deadly in the second half. Ripped the floodgates open with his two goals, and his spread was outstanding
Unlucky - Robbo, Steven, Wright (he is just a battering ram!)
4 - Webster - becoming a quarterback for us, sets us up well off the back line

Re: Votes Saints v Giants
I have always appreciated the guys in a football team that help to have a win by trying their guts out.
I played two season as a back pocket ( the worst player in the team in suburban football) in the seconds (no lower team).
These are my choices tonight.
5 Longer. Can you imagine the conversations before the game and the head space he must have been in.
4. Gilbert. Unloved. Fall on a grenade please. Cannot possibly be rewarded no matter what he does for his game tonight.
3. Billings. Wasted pick. Poor goal shooting. He has heard it. He played with that in his mind. He played courageously tonight.
2. Acres. Selfish. Erratic. He played outside his body tonight.
1. Carlisle. Hey mate. Just go and play on the two best and most skilled forwards in the competition and if we lose its probably because they kicked too many goals on you.
I think that Richo deserves a medal for his tactical coaching tonight and his preparation for these guys. Yes the top possession players won the accolades but these guys won the game.

Spot on with Longer, gave big Mummy a bath, I'd have Steven in ahead of Gresh, otherwise agreeperfectionist wrote:5. Billy Longer - I doubt any one else will give him a vote, but I think he was terrific

5 - Seb Ross - Controlled the midfield with Steven and just did not make mistakes.
4 - Jack Steven - Just behind Ross in my opinion for best on ground.
3 - Jimmy Webster - Great performance in the back line controlled the area and provided great run against a very dangerous forward line.
2 - Dylan Roberton - See Jimmy Webster.
1 - Billy Longer - Got the better of Mummy and did not allow him to bully the smaller guys which is what he really loves.
