Barracking hard for Collingwood & Carlton...

Post: # 1666115Post Joffa Burns »

Hate to admit it but I was barracking hard for Collingwood and Carlton on the weekend, my two most disliked teams.
I am so caught up in the Hawthorn pick that I look at who is playing and want to spread the wins to keep the Hawks on the bottom.

It was Carlton (who I hate the most) I wanted over the Swans, as I figure the Swans will bounce back and win plenty of home games later in the year.
And Collingwood over Geelong, Geelong certainly finalists but the Filth winning has a double bonus as wins for the filth keeps Hawthorn lower and may keep Buckley in a job next year :D

This Hawthorn pick has certainly added a lot of inteest in other games for me this season.
Anyone else on the same path?

The Dark Path is always the easiest!

but - I am glad of anything that delivers us a better draft pick, remembering of course that it is an almost free pick!

But can we trust our recruiters with a real high pick?
They have done a great job with money-ball trades and most later picks but the jury is still out on our real high picks!

Ditto for me. Some time in the mid 90s I was sitting 2nd in the footy tipping at work, coming into the last weekend, and found myself needing the Pies to win. I was so torn, that I vowed never to join a footy tipping comp again, and never have .( and they lost that week, and so did I ! )

Having said that, it is a lot of fun watching the Hawks struggle , given the benefit it brings us.

"the enemy of my enemy is my friend"
a timeless phrase, first uttered thousands of years ago, eternally relevant,
even carrying into humanity's future- spoken in the year 2259 on the Star Ship Enterprise.

Any joy I felt over the Filth's victory was due to the pain felt by Cats' fans,
knowing that the win was a false dawn, as The Filth is doomed to crumble.

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤🤍🖤 and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Indeed. You read my mind, WS. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Lara Bingle said that.

Geebung are now most hated team just below Essenscum, mainly cos of the arrogance of Selwood and others. Used to admire them during their great era but now they are turds. Giants and Bullfrogs make up the quaddie currently. Funny how it changes - not long back Port were my most loathed lol

I absolutely loath/hate 17 other sides actually.

My level of hate starts highest with the filth though.

Indeed. There is a special place in the hearts of every football fan that is reserved for hatred of the filth. Arrogant Carlscum and doper supporters are annoying. Fake interstate teams the same, but because they are a long way away we can ignore them. Geebung and the dorks earn begrudging respect for their recent records, but the filth has won two flags in sixty years, yet carry on as though they are the greatest club of all. Shitstains.

I love the line in Collingwoods Club Song that goes "All the premierships are paid for, by the Good Old Collingwood" Speaks volumes to the pre-draft era of the A(V)FL
