Changes for Pies match
Armo and Steven will be back pending fitness. If not then players like Koby Stevens, Darren Minchington, Ben Long, Jack Sinclair & even promoting rookie Rowan Marshall would be ideal.
In: Jack Steven, David Armitage & Koby Stevens
Out: Jack Billings, Patrick McCartin & Jack Lonie (ALL DROPPED)
Billings and McCartin both were pathetic and not interested at all, Billings in particular has been poor all of the main season, needs a run in the VFL, McCartin similar, not bad last week but absolutely hopeless today and apparently played only 58% game time also.
Savage on the cusp also, and Dunstan should get dropped, not consistent enough at all.
I'd personally chuck any of Minchington,Long,Sinclair or Marshall over Dunstan, but know they wont.

Dunstan was okay today. Earned his spot.coopergrech wrote:Armo and Steven will be back pending fitness. If not then players like Koby Stevens, Darren Minchington, Ben Long, Jack Sinclair & even promoting rookie Rowan Marshall would be ideal.

You can have 50 to 1 Gilbert getting dropped. and the previous poster can have the same odds re Dunstan.Impatient Sainter wrote:Out: Billings, McCartin, Gilbert & Lonie

I think these two have assumed the Raph/Kosi role on SS.

Re: Changes for Pies match
So if Acres has a bad quarter or two he gets dropped with a message to learn to play a full game.
If Billings and McCartin have bad entire games they get picked anyway because they were high draft picks.
Seems like double standards based on what draft pick you were.
Ridiculous.

I'll be surprised if Lonie gets dropped. Coach seems to have faith in him, so I reckon he'll keep his spot.

Marshall for McCartin.

Re: Changes for Pies match
I don't think we can drop Paddy.
Play him and play him....
I really think he needs more time as that hit up forward role. He seems to do pretty well at it and his field kicking is not rubbish.
Massive concern.

That's fair on performing players
Luke Beverage doesn't do that, he just drops players who play poorly

Re: Changes for Pies match
Really tough calls to make this week depending on injury returns...
If jack s and Arno are cleared fit:
Ins: Jake Steven, Armo
Out: Savage, Gilbert
The only reason I'm dropping Gilbert is because I think all our young exciting prospects like billings, acres, dunstan, Steele, Lonie, Gresham etc just need to keep getting games into them, they need to play in big important games for development. You could probably throw a blanket over Luke, Acres, billings, Steele...they could all feasibly go out for either of jack s and Armo.
I'm backing Monti and Webster over savage at the present as running half backs. Jimmy has been good this year imo
I'd want Armo absolutely 100% fit because otherwise he's just not a lay down mesair. I'll take Jackie Steven at 80% fit. He's a jet

Re: Changes for Pies match
Ben Long for Lonie. Want to see Ben Long in action. Lonie might get 'tackles' but what good are they if the opposition shrugs them off and breaks free all the time. Got a couple cheap goals in West Coast game IMO. Time for a change. Plus Ben Long may be able to run through the midfield or off the half back line. Lonie can't do neither unfortunately. Does Richo see him as potential Paul Puopolo?

Out: Membrey, Bruce, Weller and Gresham.
In: Anyone who can kick straight
Those 4 were responsible for 13 behinds between them.
If they kick 10 of those misses we win by 90 odd points and this site would have stopped melting down.
Am I doing it right?

Re: Changes for Pies match
I don't think a win should stop us making significant changes this week after being held together by a 33 & 34 year old.
In
Steven, Armitage, Stevens, Sinclair
Out
Lonie, McCartin, Billings, Savage
Bruce is fortunate we don't have anyone presenting in the twos to put pressure on him… he's been very ordinary since he signed his big contract 12 months ago, outside of a couple of cameos against rubbish opposition, he's kicked more than 2 goals only 4 times in his last 25 matches.
Paddy can only play so many games on potential.
Weller has laid 1 tackle in 2 weeks as a pressure forward, probably fortunate he is in the leadership group.

Yeah I doubt he'll be back too. Richo mentioned him in the presser, said he did a 7km in the week and went alright, and will be in the mix, but yeah I doubt they'd bring him back this soon.sunsaint wrote:if he really punctured a lung then there is zero chance he will be playing this weeklongtimesaint wrote:Where do you get the 4 weeks? Re: Changes for Pies match
No change...it's a big game coming up, hard to see many changes to a winning team, even if it was a crappy winning team. I tend to agree there's not much point in dropping Paddy, unless he's unwell...can't see the situation improving by sending him bag to the magoos to cruise around. Marshall too green? I guess we have another 2 leading talls plus Roo to cover him, but a liability if it doesn't work out.BigMart wrote:He said one maybe two
Has there been a change?
I have a feeling a Pies game might suit Billings...if not...have a holiday.
