Re: Welcome back Dal
Xavier worked at the club for a while
Hamil's a coach
King was too
Thompson was on the board
Now Dal... not mention a few players stayed on for Sandy after they were cut ala Simpkin, Jones (for a while)
Seems like it's a really positive environment

NICK Dal Santo has returned to St Kilda and hasn’t ruled out pursuing a coaching career in the future.
NICK Dal Santo has returned to St Kilda and hasn’t ruled out pursuing a coaching career in the future.
Today’s homecoming marked the first day that Dal Santo had returned to the club since he left more than three years ago.
While fulltime coaching isn’t a possibility due to media and AFL Academy commitments, Dal Santo said he is “open” to a role in the future.
“I love footy and this was a great way to stay involved and to stay at St Kilda,” he said.
“I love coaching and I think I could do more of it, there’s just other things in my life that I love doing as well.
“Maybe one day — I’m definitely not saying no, but I’m not going all in just yet.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Next Generation Academy — which has community and talent streams — aims to encourage and develop engagement with local talented players and create more opportunities for multicultural and indigenous participants, and includes both on and off-field skill development.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
“I’ve always said — even though I went to North Melbourne for three years, I always said I’d like to come back and help in some way, whether it was formal or informal, that was important for me to feel like I was giving back a little bit.
“To be able to do it for a team that I’ve grown up with is really important to me as well.

Good news story!

They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Dal Santo returns to Linen House Centre Nick Dal Santo speaks to SAINTS.com.au as he returns to LHC as the Saints' Next Generation Academy Coach.
Nick Dal Santo is coming home. The former St Kilda midfield star is returning to the club as the Next Generation Academy Coach and will also be involved in a coaching capacity with St Kilda’s Father-Son Academy.
The Next Generation Academies are a new initiative between the AFL and the clubs and are aimed at increasing the opportunities for multicultural and indigenous communities to learn and play the game.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
“First of all, it’s great to get back and involved with St Kilda, a place where I spent 12 years of my life and still have a lot of close friends from,” Dal Santo told saints.com.au.
“I’ve maintained a close relationship with Ameet Bains [Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel] since leaving for North Melbourne and have continued to catch up with him in the years since I left the Saints and he has helped orchestrate this appointment.”

Re: Welcome back Dal
Difficult to find anyone who says a bad word about Dal. Should never have been let go in the first place.
Re: Welcome back Dal
Glad we have done right by him and taken him back. Good for the club, good for the culture.
Wonder how many of our boys we will pinch back for various roles at the club. Get Harvey back off the pies, surely cant be good being under Bucks at the current moment unless he is eyeing that position which will never happen. Get Lenny back off GWS too. Get X off Tigers and let them keep Mcqualter

Thanks to that genius Pelchen, Dal, one of our greatest ever, was lost to us for years. Add Fraser and Watters and you have the reason why we've spent five years out of the finals. Welcome home, Dal, Ye shood ne'er left.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Closest the club has come to really pissing me off. I wasn't going to renew my membership, but sanity prevailed in the end.

Re: Welcome back Dal
just on Dal
on AFL tonight earlier in the week the discussion was Gazza looking at his options
He mentioned that early in his career he was just observing/ considering other clubs/ offers- (He did stress he was never going)
and was told in no Uncertain terms if he did-indicate a choice was being considered seriously he would be 'playing in the VFL for the rest of the year'
GT ?
or Ross?
