You're the idiot Sainternist. Petracca is a super star already and McCartin has had an extra year on him and without an ACL injury. Time for you to get your head out of the sand.Sainternist wrote:You idiot, CW. We needed a key forward for when Roo retires. It was a pragmatic selection.citywest wrote:The decision of our recruiters to draft McCartin instead of Petracca will haunt us for the next 15 years.

Nobody is writing off Paddy.skeptic wrote:I think this is a hysterical response to be honest...
A guy ran around in the midfield unchecked whilst his team dominated... remind me, how great was he in the first quarter
And Paddy written off after missing the game.
Ppl need to get a grip
Re: Our loss to Melbourne proves one thing.....
If you compare the number of top 10 picks between us and the dees you will see where the difference in recruiting comes from. We wouldn't even be considering finals at the start of the year if it wasnt for the value we have got out of lower picks and trades thanks to our recruiting dept.PremiershipSaint wrote:Yet our supporters love to rave about how good our recruiting team is.
Who would think we'd have a shot this season without Bruce, Wellar, Roberton, Membrey, Steele etc
Re: Our loss to Melbourne proves one thing.....
No, you only said he will never be as good as Petracca over the next 15 years because he got 23disposals and 2 goals in a game where their inside mids dominated.citywest wrote:Nobody is writing off Paddy.skeptic wrote:I think this is a hysterical response to be honest...

There are only a handful of superstars in the AFL and we have one, he hurt his knee yesterday!

Re: Our loss to Melbourne proves one thing.....
Our loss to Melbourne proves....they had a dominant ruckman and classy midfield...we lacked leadership in the coaches box and on the field...and outsmarted ourselves at the selection table....
Re: Our loss to Melbourne proves one thing.....
CW, i'm not arguing with you cuz it's you but it's a little early to make that call.citywest wrote:The decision of our recruiters to draft McCartin instead of Petracca will haunt us for the next 15 years.
As it been pointed out, CP did not prove the difference in our loss. we didn't kick straight and we were hammered in the middle.... I noticed from the end of the 1st we were spent and just couldn't spread and cover.

We were down the bottom for a few years and failed to get any elite talent from it. That's a fail in my opinion.Griggsy wrote:If you compare the number of top 10 picks between us and the dees you will see where the difference in recruiting comes from. Fair enough, personally think it's too early to call. Dees were at the bottom for a decade, we've climbed back faster, I'd call that a win.PremiershipSaint wrote:We were down the bottom for a few years and failed to get any elite talent from it. I am of the opinion that in a few years time, when we are well and truly beyond the Riewoldt era, Paddy will be a godsend and prove to be a rather wise selection.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

I agree with the OP I believe by the end of their repective careers Petracca would have kicked more goals than McCartin!

There is nothing wrong with Paddy except for type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is why our recruiters should never have gone near Paddy.
Sadly you can't just wish the diabetes away.

I'm hoping Marshall turns out to be a gun, then it won't matter what happens to Paddy.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
