Good we are being proactive.
Bad we are still in this situation and our medical team is seemingly all out of ideas to fix it themselves....
Must be some kind of treatment.
But if he runs out there at full pace in Rd 1 it will be worth it.

Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
I have faith that he'll come good. Time will tell.
But, win or lose on this one, Freeman was well worth the punt. As was Jessie Smith.
That said, the only downside on us recently shafting the Dawks at the trade table (more than got back that 'Freeman pick' ), was that doing so possibly may have occupied our attention, so we missed Ahern. For pick 2703, I reckon Nuff Nuff got a bargain. And that's even if he never plays a game.
IMHO, you've simply gotta' go for these calculated punts when they come up. May our club continue to do so.

I would love to see NF have a great career with us, but logically I still just can't see why we recruited him in the first place, with such a serious issue with his hamstrings. What were the club thinking?

Hi risk, high reward, spert. The kid is a gun. We got him at unders, IF, he comes good. And that is becoming a bigger if by the day. The signs are not good at present, but if ze Chermans can't fix him, he might be screwed. A bit like buying a Ferrari that has a few issues, for half price. At the time of purchase, you can only dream of cruising the countryside and accelerating at warp speed. Pure pleasure. Then the realities of the "issues" kick in. That makes you sad. He is a very important piece of the overall list building strategy. We need him to come good. If he does, Ameet and trout are geniuses. If he doesn't, they are goats.spert wrote:I would love to see NF have a great career with us, but logically I still just can't see why we recruited him in the first place, with such a serious issue with his hamstrings. Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
With all due respect. Freeman is no gun. He has shown nothing since his under 18 year where he was rated, and taken, around the top 10. I think we are clutching at straws with this kid. We certainly overpaid for him, and when he did get on the park last year he was extremely underwhelming. And that's being generous. Pop Gun maybe!White Winmar wrote: Hi risk, high reward, spert. It is ok to say we may have stuffed this one up. It's the more likely outcome atm.

Does that mean he's been to Germany and returned already? Previous reports had him going over last week.Wombat15 wrote:If anyone observed the Saints snapchat today Freeman was running laps. didnt see much else but im sure the club will post photos. Seems to be moving well from the 15 second clip.

Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
While I'm not hopeful of ever seeing him play regularly for the firsts he must have something very exciting about him. Collingwood were offering him a new contract and seemed pretty annoyed with him when he left.spert wrote:I would love to see NF have a great career with us, but logically I still just can't see why we recruited him in the first place, with such a serious issue with his hamstrings. If Freeman comes good he will be pure upside.
I wouldn't write him off just yet.

The problem with Germany is that whatever gains are made, they are lost coming back on the long plane trip home. They should fly the specialist out here ffs.

Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
Yes I'm sure the Royal Australian College of Surgeons would allow this specialist to fly into Melbourne hang up his shingle for an afternoon, operate on Freeman's hammy, then fly back to Germany. Oh so easy to practise medicine in Aus.citywest wrote:The problem with Germany is that whatever gains are made, they are lost coming back on the long plane trip home. If ever there was a justification for the use of PED's and Dank style chemists...but from a 'purely professional' standing of course

Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
If he had been to Germany already im sure the media would be over-exaggerating it all anyways. I spoke to a friend about it and he said the specialists over there are world class so it seems purely procedural. Good way for him to learn about the bio-mechanics and how to improve his legs.remboy wrote:Does that mean he's been to Germany and returned already? Just to be off topic the fact he played 8 games this year is a massive positive, couldn't care about the form. just want him on the park and playing. the form will come and if ends up being 90% of the prospect he was meant to be at pick 10 then its a steal with pick 28 of which is now a free pick based on our trading this year. He also has got more time to develop now that we have added; Steele, Stevens and potentially 23&36 or even 61 (if we take a mature aged vfl prospect). Ive spoke to multiple people about him including his trainer from Sandy Dragons and they are all positive on his development and rehab.

That was my take on this season of football for Nathan, just get some games into his legs and slowly build from there...from this it has been a success

Re: FREEMAN OFF TO GERMANY FOR HAMSTRING FIX
The next step is a full re-season - culminating in practice match time and availability for Round 1.
I noted that they "pulled" him from VFL availability to have him commence pre-season from day 1 and not commence a few weeks later due to Contract requirements.

Freezer has come second in today's time trial. Well done young man.
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.
