Interesting then that MG said that the O'Meara deal holding up our Steele deal - why would it if we are dealing straight with GWS? Unless GWS is involved with the O'Meara deal?
I'd say he got that call wrong.
Maybe Armo is involved in the O'Meara deal and we are waiting to see what happens before we offer up our future 2nd - ie: we get a 1st round and a 2nd round pick for Armo or two 2nd round picks - one of which we pass to GWS for Steele thus keeping next years 2nd
Hey just speculating - MG is usually on the ball ............ not that I am dismissing your call

It’s been more than two decades since Tony Lockett’s departure to Sydney left St Kilda supporters heartbroken, in a move that emphasised the cruel reality of the trade period.
Having booted just under 900 goals in 183 games in red, white and black, and drawn fans in by the thousands just to watch his exploits from the goal square, Lockett ignored lucrative overtures from Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton and just about every other team in the competition, to join the struggling Swans.

i fear ... yes ... maybe ... but surely not a forward while they have Tippett, Franklin and Reid.
I really can see us budling up 10 + webster or savage for tom mitchell as swans need rebound backs
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)
I can't see Armo getting traded when his picture is all over the 2017 membership promotions. I reckon Sam Gilbert may be being shopped to GCS. Fits the bill of 'fan favourite'.

Armo, longer and pick 47 to GC for pick 8, 26 and 30...pick 10 to freo for Weller....future 2nd round for Steele
This is a big win for us if it gets done....
Sure is, that's why it won't happen.
You must think people at Gold Coast are pretty stupid.
You think they are going to give up 3 picks under 30 for a 29 year old midfielder, a ruckman who played VFL football only in 2016, and they get back pick 47!

Yes
Might not get 30 but I would hope the saints would be trying for 8
Also I don't entirely agree on your assessment of longer...he is an afl player who had a bad run this year and was only held out by a very very good ruckman in Hickey....

Did you not get feedback of Ameet talking publicly today about that scenario?
He said we had no plans - doesn't mean we won't if the right deal came along
Once again I won't talk about players that may leave our football club unless they have been informed, particularly when any such deals remain purely hypothetical at this stage.

Ok, thats fair enough. I respect that.
However, it is interesting that there are obviously names being spoken about by other clubs and us

Which really means we'll just have to wait and see what happens in real life.
Whilst we wait, let's keep speculating and see if anyone guesses correctly.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Yep you have said it numerous times - but every chance it might happen it seems

Hawks currently hold picks 14, 23 and 36. GC might think 10 looks better than 14. Could we split our 10 into 14 and 36 then get steel for 36 and not dip in to next year? Or even better put our next year's second in and take all of them. Gws might prefer the points this trade period for academy picks if that matters.
I'm liking Myron's Cloke, Stevens and 68 but think Collingwood would be holding out for our 50. Personally if I was at the table I would make out that if Eddie got involved it might be possible. Then I hand him a pic of Luke Ball with his medallion round his neck with 68 in big fat texta on the back of it.
