The Granny - who's going?
I'll be there. Always am as an MCC member. Nice level one seats in the ballot near the wing - well away from the riff-raff (and corporates).
Who else is going and where are your seats/what allocation are you using?

Will be sitting on a sofa at my brother in-law's place in Netanya, about forty minutes north of Tel Aviv. Big screen, counting on AOL dude to stream. 0730 start.

I'll be there. BBQ in the carpark beforehand as well. Rain and wind could be an issue...

MCC of course.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: The Granny - who's going?
I hope you're not having a go at MCC Members. Our subs ($720 a year for metro full members) largely build and rebuild the ground. As members, we run the ground. We rightly deserve our 23,000 seats each and every Grand Final. Similar applies to AFL members and their same sized allocations. Most MCC and AFL members have a decent or some interest in sport/AFL.Saints43 wrote:Can't stand impartial people going to the grand final while members of participating teams miss out. Terrible system.
The biggest beef I have is the ridiculous 17,000 corporate seats. They can be given by companies to anyone as freebies or bribery for business. IMO at very most there should be only 5,000 corporate seats which would free up an extra 12,000 seats for members of competing clubs.

Yep, have to concur with all of this. I used to reckon the MCC shouldn't be gifted entry but I have changed my tune when you take into account who subsidises most of the MCG renovations over the years.
Corporates getting 17000 is outrageous. Dickheads who would never go to a game unless they are given a free ticket and contribute nothing to the atmosphere. OR poor suckers who can't get a ticket and are prepared to pay almost anything to see their team play, which is criminal that they have to do that.
When ppl get shitty at me for going as an impartial, I just point out that EVERYONE has the option of buying an AFL membership. Part of that membership includes a standard membership to the Saints who get $180 of my money or whatever a standard membership costs, so I am counted as a paid up member there as well. I just fork out more so that I can go to every AFL game that I want. And I do go to a few extra throughout the year and pretty much every final in Melbourne. Love footy and if I relied on the saints for enjoyment only of footy I would get miserable pretty quickly.
I do feel sorry for those passionate doggie supporters but I don't feel one ounce of guilt. Every cent of my membership goes twds the game and everyone has opportunity to buy one

Re: The Granny - who's going?
Whist AFL membership is good value I'm philosopically opposed to it as you are supporting the AFL administration. I like the fact the MCC is independent from the AFL. But also very dependant on them for product!

Do you reserved seats for the finals and grand final or do you have to get there early?Moods wrote:saintspremiers wrote:I hope you're not having a go at MCC Members. Nice rehearsed answer. Feel like you made the thread just wanting someone to ask...

Same here Saynta. Can't stand the thought of them winning a second before us. What's the difference between the goal umpires today and the WB. At the end of the game, the goal umpires will each have two flags!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
