Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
I would like to send a message to the Club. Don't deal with Essendope.
Look at the recent disasters we have dealt with due to Essendope.
Lovett
Paying too much for Carlisle then losing him for a year.
The recent Laverde falseness.
Don't deal with these low life's ever again.
Please join me if you agree.

Nor did Essendon engineer the laverde rumours in order to end up paying him more.

The only reason we did not end up paying too much is that we were able to renegotiate his contract due to his video of stuffing drugs up his nose.stonecold wrote:Would join ya, but, we didn't pay too much for Jake!!!!!happy feet wrote:I would like to send a message to the Club. Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
Carlisle trade netted us Gresham as well and so for the picks used looks fine to me. You have been reading too many posts by EFC Fanboys claiming they won.
Laverde dealings, my guess would be Connors. It did not even get to the stage of dealing with Essendon.

If you are talking about the $$$, that was negotiated between the Saints and Carlisle's manager and not the EFC.happy feet wrote:

.
EFC were only involved in what picks and players were traded and not at all the cash.

Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
Essendon have a 2:1 w:l ratio against us over the last 100 + years.
They have 10 x more flags than us.
As a result they think we are rabble. It is in their dna.
They also have a delusion that they are the 'Toorak of the west' which makes them more bitter and twisted.
We should be very cautious dealing with them. Very cautious.

Please explain what the Lovett trade has to do with the current Admin and Football Departments of the StKFC?happy feet wrote:isaintsRrising wrote:Carlisle trade netted us Gresham as well and so for the picks used looks fine to me. You might as well complain to the current admin about not taking Judd over Ball.

Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
No AFL club likes to deal with Essendon during trade period . They have always been arrogant and completely unrealistic in their dealings. They are widely disrespected for this. I have been saying for years Never Trade with Essendon. They'll probably want Melbourne's first round pick for Melksham, you watch.
Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
No argument on Lovett. And no we shouldn't deal with them. But the other reasons given aren't reasons, did u expect them to roll over on Carlisle. Was an even trade in the end, imo.

Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
Seems a bit of a 'scatter gun' approach to recruiting at this stage. Club got played by Connors/Laverde and once again Essendon walk away laughing. We seem to be having a bite at every one who comes on the market and thieves like Connors know we $$$ to spend in the cap and taking advantage of it.
I see much more of a future in Laverde than there latest interest in Tom Rockliff, he is just the wrong age dynamic to be using a 1st round pick on IMO. Go after Dion Prestia Saints at least he can run!

Don't think Essendon are laughing; maybe sighing with relief and seething at Connors

Seriously "played"? Why.Impatient Sainter wrote:Seems a bit of a 'scatter gun' approach to recruiting at this stage. Club got played by Connors/Laverde and once again Essendon walk away laughing. Yes Connors shopped him around and we made our bid. So what if Essendon ended up matching or getting close to the deal as part of the bidding and that we were in the end unsuccessful..
The various ITK posts were mainly along the lines of that IF he left the Dons that we were in with a show.
It is a bit like bidding at an auction. You might win, or you might not. You go with what you are willing to pay and it might be enough or not.
We are not yet the "destination" club that a number of fans would like to imagine that we are, and being our recruiting team trying to attract the right players must be a bloody hard task.
Our recruiting team were obviously quite keen on Laverde originally and so why not have a go at getting him now that his contract was expiring?

The admin would be pretty poor if they decided they would only deal with certain clubs.

Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
If ddildo could get a first round pick in this years trade period for Melksham, he'd have to be in a class of his own considering Melsham is already a Melbourne player.cwrcyn wrote:No AFL club likes to deal with Essendon during trade period . Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
Agree we shouldn't have any dealings with this lowlife drug culture.
Lovett came with the personal character reference of their coach.
Carlisle's drug habit only came to our knowledge on the day we signed him and made us look comprehensively stupid, amateurish and inept. Possibly the unexpectedly good perferomance of Gresham may partly save the day but the burning image of the deal was as we rushed to blurt out our major signing everyone else was watching his drug snorting video and the Essendon hierarchy were pissing themselves with laughter that they had managed to keep it quiet and we had paid way way way overs.
Essendon were seriously unprofessional in this deal and we should have appealed to the AFL to have had it reversed.
They are untrustworthy SCUM and we should never deal with them again.

Why do Essendon have to do us any favours.
If they get the better end of dealings with us... It's our fault

We should be wary of who we deal with, given the past behaviour of Essendope, refer above to the Carlisle drug exposure and Lovett matter.BigMart wrote:Why do Essendon have to do us any favours.

Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
I don't see why people think we got ripped off with Carlisle. We knew the risks with Jakes suspension but he was identified as the key defender plank in our rebuild and a year out wouldn't matter too much. Not Essendons fault that a video was circulating of Jake sniffing blow.
We did the right thing and kept pick 5 off the table as long as we could to see if dildo would blink. But dildo didn't blink - helped by Clarkson sticking his nose in - pick 5 came into play but we stuck firm it wasn't going to be a straight swap. To break the stalemate swans come in desperate to get enough points for their academy kids and we get a first rounder back to ensure we get gresh we had the hots for. Everyone feels they got what they wanted at a reasonable price even if not totally happy. Thats trading baby. Dildo's bagging of us in the media was poor but that's a reflection of his used-car salesmen character and says nothing about us.
Essendon couldn't control what Lovett did once he left. Laverdes dealings with us had nothing to do with Essendon and is the usual back and forth all managers do to drive the salaries of their clients up. I have no doubt that Laverde was prepared to walk if dons couldn't get close to the cabbage we dangled in front of his nose - that worries me as a player who had only been at the club for 2 years. He was extremely opportunistic for a guy who hasn't shown a lot at AFL level yet and knowing the Dons were still very sensitive about the perception there has been a player exodus. Think we might have dodged a bullet not getting him personally.

Re: Message to the Club, don't deal with Essendope
I know a few people who are quite senior in the media departments at a couple of AFL clubs (other than ours) and they say all the other clubs are pretty good to deal with off the field except for one - Essendon.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.
