#32 - Coleman medalist 2018 and beyond!

Post: # 1632482Post Sainter_Dad »

If Paddy brings the first 10 minutes of yesterdays game, against the 'best' defender in the league - he will be a shoe in to grab the Coleman. In an era of 50+ getting you a Coleman - this kid is 100+ material!

Watch him kick bags of 10 against poor defenders, and 5 against good ones!!!!

* He was strong
* He was smart
* He was dangerous
* He was accurate

For the first time since he has been in tri-colours - I saw a monster. Smart leads, smart positioning, strong marking, confident kicking, accurate kicking (even in pain)

Paddy lad - Stand up - for now you have arrived!!!

Bring on 2017!

it is about building his body, refining the size and strength , building game nous, developing movement techniques- even the fall/ roll/ fold that will avoid injury- comes with time, -- then of course he will have to work around the Tag/ defender

Definitely giving glimpses of something big, but I hope he doesn't end up being one of those who had all the skills but not the body to hold up at elite level. Should be whacked on a vegan diet over summer.

Too early - fat fingers - I wish - edited for accuracy (and reality)

He still needs to work on his goalkicking routine before we can get too excited. I still see him pulling back on shots of short distance, bleeding his momentum and asking the ball to fade away on him. Also psychologically, he needs to embrace the shot on goal a bit more. That will come with time, but the club needs to tell him that it is his job to take shots on goal, not pass them off.

Lots to be excited about though. Get him a full season in next year and, as you say, 2018 will just be like he is playing against under 15s.

Feed him meat. He needs to get bigger and stronger.

And just get him running all summer to get that aerobic capacity up.

Very smart footballer who just needs an ounce of luck.

A Coleman Medal could be difficult when goals are raffled between him, Timmy and the Bruce.

Saying that, Membrey could be a chance for a Coleman next year if he continues his great form.

Get him bigger and building his aerobic tank... Now there's a contradiction.

Afl players are lean beasts... He's not

He needs to trim unnecessary size and get an afl body. The big bears in the square are no longer... And are too easy to defend.

He needs to look at Tex Walker, Josh Kennedy, Tom Lynch for a hint at what his body should look like

He needs to turn a bit of puppy fat into lean muscle, but you don't want him smaller.
