Re: Discipline fell apart in second half
maybe frustration took over, got angry and lost focus.
Knowing Hickey was limping wouldn't help, as the guys knew it would be tough to win any stoppages

We lost focus as our hearts were being ripped out in slow motion by the incompentent men in green ........ and the Swans relentless running of course
Still on a learning curve - some positives though like Acres ripping first half

The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!

Re: Discipline fell apart in second half
I looked up our last results against the Swines.
We were 6 goals down at half time, at least this time we were a real worry to them at half time.
Losing General Geary hurt, then other injuries were incredibly tough.
Still kept fighting it out, even though the maggots wanted to help Swines

Yes, Acres has it in him to be a gun midfielder. Very impressive first half. I thought Paddy was serviceable, too.Devilhead wrote: Still on a learning curve - some positives though like Acres ripping first half

Frustrated by incompetent umpires
The 50 against Gilbert laughable

Re: Discipline fell apart in second half
I kind of wanted them to start deliberately giving away 50s in protest.
Anyway, just wanted to say that I really likes Acres' game. Actually to be honest I would say he played a better game than the Melbourne one. And I had been a little harsh on him previously, but he impressed me today.
Gresham another very interesting game. Remarkably consistent for someone his age. Whenever he had the ball it looked like he could match it with the Sydney midfield - who were too good for a few of our other players.
The loss looks worse than it was. The umpires slaughtered us in the second half.

Re: Discipline fell apart in second half
Watched the first quarter and then had to go out to dinner with some friends (groan!),
now happy I missed it.....WTF happened?
Seems like we got beaten up by the Swans and once again, screwed by the umpires.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
