Re: Umpires!!!
There was an incident about halfway through the final quarter. The ball was passed to Riewoldt in the pocket, it was marked cleanly, but was called 'out of bounds'.
Logically this should have either been a)mark to Riewoldt or b)out of bounds on the full.
Poor decision.
Generally the umpires were adequate.
When the Saints are 'on' our tackling pressure is immense. This causes opponents to 'spill' the ball, technically this is 'incorrect disposal', and should result in a free to St Kilda. This year, I havn't felt the umpires are rewarding us enough.

Re: Umpires!!!
There has been a change to the interpretation of this in the last few years. Once, it was an immediate free. Now, it depends on whether there has been "prior opportunity". Here are some examples. If a player takes the ball, is tackled and tries to kick, and misses the ball, it's play on. If a player takes the ball, takes at least one step, then tries to kick the ball and misses, it's a free. If a player takes the ball, goes to handpass but changes his mind and tries to kick and misses, it's a free.Toy Saint wrote:...When the Saints are 'on' our tackling pressure is immense. Re: Umpires!!!
Due to a couple of contentious decisions earlier in the year that didnt go our way, we could be equal second on points if the hawks and north games go our way.
If someone told you that at the start of the season you wouldn't believe them.
Big game this week. 8 point game.

Re: Umpires!!!
The non 50 to Roo was horrendous. Thought we had the better of it in the 2nd half after the Dogs had a dream run in the first half. How many f50 frees did they get? Seemed like heaps early on.

Re: Umpires!!!
I thought FOXTEL were poor at showing replays. Dempster I thought was held out for one of Bontempelli's marks. No replay.
We got that free off the ball. No replay. They started to show it and changed their mind.
The out on the full call and 50 against Joey. No replay.
When Weller went off with the blood rule there was going to be a ball up 50m from our goal. By the time they showed 15 replays, Nathan Wright had the ball 80m from goal.
