Re: Poor Wallis
What a terrible night for them as a club. Red path did his ACL as well. Number 3 for him, I believe. Dropped from third to sixth and face the pussies next week. That's the sort of night that normally happens to us. Sympathy goes out to Mitch Wallis. Shocking injury.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Re: Poor Wallis
Yes really sad for Wallis. Feel more for the kid than the win. Bulldogs supporters have had it tough for so long even more than us. Would have rather seen them do well in finals than the other teams in contention.

Re: Poor Wallis
Was horrific. Took them too long to stop the game. Also thought Redpath was done the first time and could not believe they put him back on the ground.

Re: Poor Wallis
Must say credit to the umpire for stopping play relatively soon after it happened. They normally are a bit slow on the uptake and let play go on for far too long. And yes, we had possession at the time and were denied a quick forward 50 entry.

Re: Poor Wallis
Bad luck to both Wallis and Redpath.
Coincidentally both injuries were caused by Savage tackles.

Re: Poor Wallis
Really strange that in the comeback game last year Smith hurt his knee and they sent him back out and he did an acl. Same thing happened today with Redpath. Dogs doctors should be asked some serious questions.

Re: Poor Wallis
Yep terrible luck for the Bulldogs, although happy to win. Would have liked to see them go to to win the comp this year. Not impossible but much harder for them with two more key players out.

Poor guy, you don't want to hear something like that about any player. If it happened to one of ours I'd be heartbroken

Shocking, poor guy. I really like the bulldogs they share our pain in lack of success, the gods are conspiring against them this year. Hope he can get back to his best, seems like a good kid and fingers crossed he recovers fully

Re: Poor Wallis
Let's hope Mitch Wallis comes back and can continue to play good footy. Felt for both Redpath and Wallis. I hate seeing stuff like that.

I'm reminded of that appalling injury suffered by Goose against the West Coast Eagles. Was never the same player after that. I really do have sympathy for the Western Bulldogs footy club

Back in the 90's, Dean Anderson broke a lower limb IIRC and was never the same afterwards. Tragically, I think an infection set in, and surgeons were forced to do something unthinkable.thejiggingsaint wrote:I'm reminded of that appalling injury suffered by Goose against the West Coast Eagles. Re: Poor Wallis
Yep. I remember his first game against the Blues, the only reason he wasn't BOG (39 touches) was because some bloke kicked 13.SuperSaint wrote:Wasn't that Dean Greig?WellardSaint wrote:Back in the 90's, Dean Anderson broke a lower limb IIRC and was never the same afterwards. Re: Poor Wallis
Yes it was at Waverley Park. Greig was a good hard player and had a great first game playing in the centre but that No.4 was the most exciting Saints player I've ever seen. I was fortunate to see a number of his 10 plus hauls.perfectionist wrote:Yep.
