Pick 4 is better that pick 7.
We were putrid and deserved to lose to a complete bunch of hacks.
The 4 points was the worst thing to come out of today.
Tonight's win was a bit like eating your own vomit for dinner.
The best thing out of today

Not that simple. In the first few years of rebuild - yes, correct. But now we want to be an attractive team on the rise during trade period. We need to win every game.dragit wrote:The four points are a complete load of s*** when you aren't making the finals… the ladder is in reverse.

Membrey kicked straight.
Our new crop of leaders all stood up.
Steven really put his hand up for captaincy imho (even though have previously been backing Newnes).

Good teams are able to change gear late to overcome and that's exactly what we did.
Our leaders really stood up in the last qtr when asked by Richo to do so - Roo, Jack S, Jack N, Mav & gears
History shows Bombers play Etihad as well as we do, so not too unexpected where they were at 3/4 time.
I'll take the win, enjoy the week ahead and not join the naysayers. .

+1 and I might add that the Bummers were up and about last night, really hunting. They would have tested most sides with that attitude, something that has been Geelong's problem over the last month is that it's not always easy beating the sides you are meant beat...we got the job done and move onlintonstreet wrote:Good teams are able to change gear late to overcome and that's exactly what we did.

Agreed, I draw the analogy to our game against the Hawks.
No one said the Hawks just played really badly against us - we just happened to play at our best on that day. As you said, same with the Bombers last night.

Lunch at Black Cod with my pal Thomas! Oh yes, and getting four points. Listen folks, the media are all over the "gallant bombers heartbreaking loss" well the bombers can have as many of THEM as they can handle, ' cause I'm sick of "honourable losses"

WHAT was "s****!!!!" ? The game? The result? The fact that Essendon had the game fully ticketed? Would you have preferred that we lose a close one and have those back studs gloating at us all the way out of the ground? Trust me, it was a LOT more disappointing seven days earlier when we played marginally worse! Four premiership points can heal a lot of complaints!

Re: The best thing out of today
Didn't make it to the match. Fully ticketed!? You're f*&king kidding me. The best thing out of the day was that the bombers supporters thought they were going to get another win for the season, only for it to be stripped away again. On ya Saints!!
P.S Play like that next week and we'll lose by 7 goals.

Do you think Hawthorn were saying that when we almost beat them or just maybe could it have been that we played our best footy on the day.
I was at the game and trust me Essendon played probably the best they have played all year - their pressure was very good.
our effort was far from s***.

Not better
Just have higher expectations than a 10pt win over the worst team of the last 30 years
And haven't got my head up my arse!!!
How the hell could anyone accept that rubbish except an easily pleased desperate fan

So a typical fan is easily pleased and desperate and has their head up their arse, but you're no better than that.BigMart wrote:Not better

To be fair... I do understand the urge to stomp the foot, but it's like people saying they 'don't accept it'...like that makes any difference.loris wrote:Naughty 'satchmo', butsatchmo wrote:Can we do a poll on that?BigMart wrote: And haven't got my head up my arse!!!
