Seb's report
Just watched it. He actually missed the hyphen. Shouldn't have even been a free let alone a 50 or report!
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

If by "soft" you mean non-existent then I totally agree.shrodes wrote:Yeah I thought the same. It looked bad live, but on the replay it was very soft.
Wasn't even a 50. Which was the most generous 50 distance wise I've seen in a long time.

Re: Seb's report
Because he was reported they will look at it.
He is in their focus based on the criteria
- head high contact
- duty of care to avoid head contact
But in his favour
- there was no intent or maliciousness and he immediately raised his hand in apology
- low level contact; his opponent wasn't even momentarily stunned
Might get a warning and accrue some points.

Is Roo in trouble for maiming an umpire?

Re: Seb's report
This was from the MRP today
"The match day report laid against St Kilda’s Seb Ross for striking Essendon’s Anthony McDonld-Tipungwuti from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. It was the view of the panel there was insufficient forceful high contact made for a report to be laid. No further action was taken."
IMHO the umpire that made the report and the 50 metre penalty should be dropped from next weeks games

Re: Seb's report
The mown strips are 12.5 metres. So the umpires should be able to work out that 4 of those strips make 50m. But they decided to go with 4 1/2 or about 56m which was just enough to put him within kicking distance.Life Long Saint wrote:If by "soft" you mean non-existent then I totally agree.shrodes wrote:Yeah I thought the same. Re: Seb's report
Yep just saw this 'incident' for the first time and the 50 metre penalty was a joke. On the subject of the 5om pens, its time to go back to a more realistic 25 metre penalty as the punishment for some of these very minor things is way too severe and costly and looks shite for the gameBigMart wrote:Embarrassing for the umpire
