Unusual...

Post: # 1622373Post SaintPav »

The only goals we scored for the last quarter were the last 2 of the game which were within the space of a couple of minutes.

So with around 6 min left on the clock we were goalless for the quarter and 2 goals down but still won.

That's what made the win great.

And what also made it a great win was the ridiculous stats they showed at 3/4 time regarding the points for and against Geelong in their last quarters. It was something like 400 odd points to 150 odd points.

When you looked at that and our respective ladder positions you got very worried. When they got in front and we needed to score 2 goals to win you started to feel very pessimistic indeed.

Brilliant stuff Image

We didn't kick a goal against Melbourne last year until the last 20 seconds. Neither team kicked a goal until the last minute.

the whole season's been unusual, especially getting so close to (and should've won against) Hawthorn and North
just had a feeling we were gonna go OK last night, so elated to come away with the points than an homourable loss
was fantastic not to crumble and dig deep for the goods needed to get over the line
I love how undaunted we can be, unphased by feted opponents

Pretty unusual, but we definitely had our chances and missed a couple of sodas so the overall good play was there to get the shots but just fluffed it at the end.

Yeah, I reckon Skunk would've thought he'd cost us the game when he missed that absolute soda 20m out directly in front.
