Tough on Lewis but who else could have made room?
Feel for lee too - terribly unlucky
Anyway stoked to see paddy and roo back!
Reckon billings may have been told he was going to spend at least a couple in the magoos

Re: Team vs Geelong
No defender in for Lee - Obviously we're going all out attack.
And no Billings not even as an emergency.

Re: Team vs Geelong
Boy its gonna be all hands to the pump on the backline. How funny that Delaney has now become our key big man there. Perfect guy to shut down Hawkins. Really interested to see if Robbo can step up again and play more of a key defender role. Hopefully Roo helps out down back a bit. I don't mind them playing Billing, Lonie and Sinclair in the 2's still. Its a cautious move to let these smaller guys get their mojo back and build their bodies up a bit. I think Wright is playing for career - needs to make every post a winner. Great to McCartin and Roo right to play - need big games from both if we want any chance of getting the chocolates.

The Gilbo will rise to the occasion. He likes playing against Geelong.Jacks Back wrote:No defender in for Lee - Obviously we're going all out attack.

Re: Team vs Geelong
So do we send Geary to Stevie Motlop to shut him down, let Ross go head to head with Selwood (see how far he actually has developed). Then who plays on danger? Do we implement a hard tag?

Maybe, after Danger gets >10 touches in the first stanza, Geary goes to him?footynut wrote:So do we send Geary to Stevie Motlop to shut him down, let Ross go head to head with Selwood (see how far he actually has developed). Then who plays on danger? Do we implement a hard tag?
He can be tasked with a shut-down role, so maybe he goes to the Dangerman.
I can't see us winning in clearance, Danger+Duck Selwood and the others are very clean and precise.

Weller on Dangerfield.
I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

My first thought was the Mav, but I wonder if he's more value getting free, linz wrote:Weller on Dangerfield.

Footy related posts get less and less attention...
Welcome back McClunkin, may you continue on your progression upwards.
Just someone shut down Danger, over him flexing his footy muscles.

We can win this one.
We can cover their strengths.

Re: Team vs Geelong
Weller has barely played in the midfield this year... He will play as a pressure player across HF on a rebounding defender like Guthrie. We have no one who can tag Danger... nor does anyone
Steven will get Danger imo
Dunstan/Armo will be likely opponents for Selwood
Ross will get the other - Blicvas... Newnes will be with Duncan
Stanley (Gilbert) will be fwd, as will Menzel (Webster/Roberton)

Re: Team vs Geelong
Well we drew with them last year at Etihad and should have won. They've improved, of course, with the addition of Dangerfield ... but so have we.BackFromUSA wrote:We can win this one.

I see we haven't beaten Geelong since the 2010 qualifying final. We hadn't beaten Collingwood since 2010 until this year either, so it would have a nice symmetry if we could achieve it. We're a chance if we turn up.
Go Saints

Re: Team vs Geelong
I wouldn't be surprised...the team this week seems to indicated Richo's sure we can win this game on our own terms (not sure we've got much choice with a depleted backline anyways). It may start this way at least, we'll see what happens if we start to bleed F50 entries.BigMart wrote:Steven will get Danger imo
Mav would seem a natural choice after that, Geary's been on that many Saints teams that were pushed aside by the Crows, with Dangerfield collecting ~30 possessions and kicking 3 goals, I'm sure he's not the answer.

Re: Team vs Geelong
I wonder what is up with Billings?
Are they just giving him an extended break? Maybe his ankle hasn't healed as well as the club would have thought. Hopefully not another "2 week" injury.
