I do not hate Lee. His is a story of persistence; had 2 shoulder reco's, then last year had major ankle surgery. I know myself how hard it is to do all the rehab to get back to your earlier strength; it's massive work.skeptic wrote:I will never u/s the hate for Lee on this site...
He's had a year and half of being almost consistently amongst the better players at Sandy. He's been given 2 games as a result. Most feel that he was ok and that his dropping was harsh...
At least half the forum never want him to play again.
Gilbert on the other hand has had about 25 possessions in 4 weeks playing as a mid and the majority love him to pieces

I think the coaches gave him 2 games and specific instructions, and he must have failed the test. Goddard and Shinners going down have given him a reprieve, but I have a feeling the club doesn't want him and they will look to trade for a KPD in Nov, through aggressive trading.
He's 25 and turns 26 in Jan 2017, and the ship, sadly, has sailed.
I don't remember Del or Coughy being named as emergencies this year.saintbob wrote:I reckon Richo will play Delaney and Coughlan this week before Lee, Richo clearly doesn't rate him and from what I've seen I don't blame him.
The problem with Lee is we need a KPP, and he likes to play like a HBF and his work in one on one contests is pathetic to say the least.supersaints wrote:Hopefully Lee gets his chance , I'm always an optimist but we could do with his kicking skills out of the backline if he is up to it.
Oh yes that old chestnut. Gilbert has a super secret role that we couldnt possibly understand and unless I have slept in Alan Richardson's bed I couldnt possibly know the super secret inside role he is playing.BringBackMadDog wrote:
So you know for a fact the Gilbert is playing unaccountable football? So you're privy to his role each week? Who did he play on this weekend, what was his role?
Just another pot shot at Gilbert, getting old real quick Con, you need to find another whipping boy.
Fisher is an all time great Saint. Would be in the team of the century and the greatest Saints 22 of all time. That is how highly I rate him.To the top wrote:I understand that Fisher has indicated he wishes to continue in 2017 - and his form and importance to the side would suggest that that may be the outcome.

Just like Robert Eddy.
Simple question. Why wasnt Eddy drafted by another club? Same question. Would Gilbert be drafted by another club?
This whole wink wink nudge nudge - that there is some secret 'insiders' role that we couldnt possibly understand is such utter horse s***. Gilbert is NOT playing as a key defender and IS playing as a + 1 in the backline. Same role as Heath Shaw. Heath is the same age as Gilbo and averaged 26 disposals a game. Heath Shaw is a gun player. Gilbert = 9.75 ave disposals in the last 4 games = utterly horrendous. This is a god damn FACT. There is no 'secret insider' role nonsense. This kind of talk is horse s*** and I dont buy it. As Jack Dyer used to say - Gilbert is 'where the ball aint'.
This isnt some insider super secret squirrel role. If you aren't involved in contests and arent anywhere near the ball - you are not playing well. Tell me the player at Hawthorn who never goes near the ball and gets picked every week? Josh Gibson? He plays the same role as Gilbert and averages 22 disposals and 6 marks. Isaac Smith 23.
Find me another player in the AFL who doesnt go near the ball, is picked every week because they are playing their secret 'role' that doesnt involve defending and doesnt involve ever going near a key fwd. Gilbert is absolutely never within 20m of the opposition key fwds. He never goes anywhere near a key fwd these days. Show me even one single spoil of a key fwd in the last 4 weeks. Just one.
Easy! Tom Lee.Con Gorozidis wrote:Oh yes that old chestnut. Gilbert has a super secret role that we couldnt possibly understand and unless I have slept in Alan Richardson's bed I couldnt possibly know the super secret inside role he is playing.BringBackMadDog wrote:

He also averages 16.5 disposals (which is more than Gilbo) and Lee spent time on Cameron on Gunston. Two of the best players in the comp.
