Doesn't appear to relish the physical contact whatsoever.
But he's a bruise free player. Sits meters off his man and cleans up loose uncontested footy across half back.
Not the first player to do this, and not the last. But it's very rare that guys like that are any good once some attention from the opposition goes into them.
None of these supposed 'great young talents' that Essendon have unearthed* have received any attention whatsoever as yet.
I think clearly, Essendon and their young guys are being judged way too lightly. They were pathetic yesterday. They were beaten by a team that played absolutely horrendously and we're coming off a 100 point drubbing and a trip to Perth.
Just because a bloke picks up easy kicks in a terrible team when the opposition consistently turns the ball over them, doesn't make him a star.
he I my averages 5 contested per week. One of the lowest at Essendon. At Essendon FFS!!

Billings also averages more tackles than ALL of our defenders.Johnny Member wrote: Jack Billings averages more tackles per week than him FFS! And AMT is a defender!
Well it's pretty damning of our defence then that we won't have a single defender on our list who averages more than one extra contested possession per game than AMT.By the way - "A player's contested possession tally is the sum of his hard-ball gets, loose-ball gets, contested marks, free kicks for, gathers from hitouts and ''contested knock-ons'', a new variation introduced this year."
Your argument here is absolutely devoid of substance. As it sits AMT is a very handy running defender playing well in his first year of footy and has plenty of scope to improve. If McKenzie had have had 20 disposals rebounding out of defence using the footy like AMT this forum would be collectively wetting itself.

Is he one of the 12 drafted in and set to be released at the end of this year? Or is a genuine Bombers listed player?
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

I disagree. Wirripunda was a vastly different type of player.magnifisaint wrote:Plays a bit like Wirrapanda and he went OKJohnny Member wrote:Well that's not what I said.Con Gorozidis wrote:Softest player in the entire AFL you think? Fantastic read. A must read actually. Incredible story. Must say there is something very special about Tiwi Islanders in general it seems, not just this story.
This is definitely an Australian Story episode in the making IMO

Rewatched the replay this morning and myst say he looks prospect. Still think he may struggle with a close manned opponent but he was almost best for Essendon

So Tipu moved himself from the Tiwis to Morwell where he worked as a gardener and trained with the Casey Scorpions and people on here are calling him 'soft'?

Come on Con.
Seriously.
Calling someone a soft player, is vastly different from questioning someone's substance as a human being.
