Oh FFS!! We smashed them on every meaningful stat that counts...46-23 clearances including 20-6 in centre clearances, 67-40 inside 50's, 23 marks inside 50, 15 more contested possessions AND we out tackled them 63-56. Even though the scores were close in the first half, we never looked liked losing, its only their enthusiasm and our inefficiency going forward that kept them in the contest.

essendon came along at the perfect time is my reading of it.

putrid result for effort against the eagles
... revisted in the first half

pulled our head out of our respectives in the second
... thanx for the opportunity 'n being SO bad , dons.

thank christ we are not facing freo having lost.

Next.

keep our heads out of our respectives
... and flow.

result for effort is about momentum.
K 's astute observation of our two faced momentum realities is what this year is showing us

thats good isnt it ?

Learn how to flow instead of fumble ...when going well /when under pressure

Its a rollercoaster ... expectations 'n football lesson need figuring out / facing / handled

from that first bounce (which shoulda been called back) against the eagles
we were slammed on the back foot ... and didnt handle it all that well.

thats good isnt it !

BM does make a point. Paddy, Membrey and Bruce might have found things tougher with Hurley and Hooker down back.

I'd suggest we might have had a different forward set up if they played.
FWIW, they would have struggled to kick more of a score if Carlisle was in our backline.
Also, their best player was James Kelly who would not even have been there under normal circumstances.

Looking forward to when we play them again later in the season!
