That team just need to hold together for 2 more seasons and then they will need to cut a few. Their salary cap must be bulging.Rosco wrote:Just need to bog together a back line and get 3-4 a grade mids, how is he GWS salary cap squeeze going?

Posting 20 years of holey crap!

The 10 marks is promising and the booming kick from outside 50. would happily watch him do that for the next 10 years.Griggsy wrote:2 goals, great pass to Bruce, and the clever tapon to Joey. Very smart footballer.

That forward line has seven players in it, so there must be a loose man free somewhere down the other end of the ground for the opposition!Con Gorozidis wrote:Bruce, McCartin,Billings, Membrey, Sinclair, Lonie, Weller.Rosco wrote:He's played 11 or 12. Bruce only just past 50.
Membrey on 15-odd.
These guys are going to be trouble in 2017-18.
We will be so dangerous in a few years.
Seriously though, Weller is not an AFL standard kick and would be better suited as an inside mid if we didn't already have so many of them on our list.
Billings is the game-changer in that forward line IMO.
The talls are all honest contested marks, but only Bruce has what it takes to make things happen once the ball hits the deck although I would actually prefer to see Carlisle (contested marking beast) play CHF next year and Bruce move to CHB due to his mobility and better potential rebound capabilities.
its time to make a name for yourself like you've never made before!

Aside from his set shot miss yesterday, Weller's kicking for goal this year has been excellent.darylcowie wrote:

He is one of, if not our best, set shot kick for goal. I'd happily back him in whenever he gets the ball within 45m.

Great strategy to play Paddy against Essendon and rest him up the week before. His marking and his overall game will do his confidence the world of good. The kicking is something easily fixed for a smart bloke like Paddy or Mav for that matter - would be a concern if their name was Trav

Great hands...good to see a forward who presents and catches the ball in his hands. Very hard to defend.
His goal kicking needs massive improvement. The one from outside 50 was great. Biomechanically pretty sound technique. The next one from around 35-40 out was not great technique, pulled the kick up short. He really should be kicking the same every time...his run up is consistent though, so that is positive.
But he really needs to keep practicing his set shots...I hope he is getting scores of them in every week.
Great hands and ability to read te ball in flight, smart use of the body. Over the next couple of years the fitness, speed and strength will come up and we will have a very good full forward at the club.

Agree completely...I am always confident when Weller has a set shot. I think he is 7.3 this yearSobraz wrote:Aside from his set shot miss yesterday, Weller's kicking for goal this year has been excellent.darylcowie wrote:
