Re: Observations
How do you do that in a tight game?
If you hit targets and don't turn it over then you take the umpires out of it by a certain degree.
Maybe a few more Saint supporters would have helped.

We don't have to accept mediocrity from

Coaches
professional, elite athletes in an elite multi million dollar competition
With no accountability
political bias and corruption
It's disgusting

You score more so it isn't a tight game.

Wait until the replay is up on AFL and then go to the last 1/4 and select Frees. There is a little F at the time period of each Freesaint6709 wrote:Tony can you please track down the free kick count for the last qtrtony74 wrote:Players.... Devastated, totally spent, sore

I was thinking more than that - but was somewhat emotional ( not sure that is exactly the right word !!) when watching ( now living living in Sydney so its all Foxtel for me these days - so not sure the ring side perspective)magnifisaint wrote:I think they got 5 moresaint6709 wrote:Tony can you please track down the free kick count for the last qtrtony74 wrote:Players.... Re: Observations
My observation is that trying to take this game to the world and explain that umpiring is a complete waste of money.
Then explain a player is allowed to just hold the ball in the air for thirty seconds to end the game while watching the scoreboard in a nail biting finish !
What a joke of a game ours actually is.
It'll never fly on the world stage.

Re: Observations
Is Ben Guthrie serious here.. He makes out like Nth won by 40 points. And if he thinks Goldstein dominated Hickey then I was watching a different game..

At worse, Hickey broke even. Goldstein certainly wasn't dominant

Disgusting.
Love Richo as coach, players have really bought in to his plan.
They pushed themselves untill the end, you could tell how bad they wanted to beat the undefeated team.
So very proud of them
Hope this drives them more with belief to take it to anyone they face this year.
Wow, what an exciting next few years we have install for us.

Agree. Hickey matched him, I thought, but didn't have the support that Goldstein gotAt worse, Hickey broke even. Goldstein certainly wasn't dominant
Re: Observations
Goldstein was better than Hickey
But Goldy is the best ruckman in the AFL... So for Hickey to compete with him and play ok himself was positive
Goldy
7/10
Hickey
6/10
You'd take that

Those who believe the game can travel beyond these shores are a) delusional and b) so riddled with hubris it's actually frightening.howlinwolf wrote:My observation is that trying to take this game to the world and explain that umpiring is a complete waste of money.

The game's sole measure of success is the size of the broadcasting contract. And, if the FTA stations and Foggstel keep bleeding like they are, the game will be stuffed before the crooks in charge even realise it.

Re: Observations
Observations? We will win a flag with this group.
By 2026 we will have added a flag possibly 2 or 3.
Theyre guns, we have the most players under 50 and we are winning.
We have toughness skill leadership on every line in the future. And we still have free agency to come.
2013-2015 drafts will go down as the best rexruiting effort in history. At the end of 2013 we were in shambles. WORSE THAN CARLTON is now or anyone since fitzroy. Yet in 2019 Possibly 2018 we will contend.
