A nomination and the recognition for Blake would be fantastic, but my biggest concern is whether we have this kids contract locked
away for the next 3 years.
I would hate to loose him back to WA, does anyone know where we're are at with his contract???

That 2013 draft is looking like a creamy crop. Billings (3), Dunstan (18) and Acres (19). Freeman went at 10 in that draft, so if he comes on that will be four first round draft picks from that year all looking the goods.
Also in that year's rookie draft we picked up Mav Weller at #44 and Eli (jury out, needs time) at pick 4.

Surely Blake Acres should get the rising star nomination this week.
He was very close to best on ground not just best young player.
28 disposals , 2 goals and goal assists as well as tackles makes a very impressive game.

How good is he? No doubt that was his best game. Maybe a coming of age? You'd want to say he's played himself into the side for the rest of the year and should get a game every week barring injury.

He was sensational. He's tall and fast and plays in the style of a Bontempelli. Could be even better.

I was always impressed with Acres, glad we recruited him and hoped he would deliver.

Acres is just the kind of midfielder we need.

Another guy whose game was outstanding, one Jack Sinclair. Seriously where did he come from? Totally unheralded draft wise but love the way he goes about it.

Agree Damien - he's my boy too. Love him. Big bodied bull mid - the only one we have the size of Danger or Fyfe. A little one-paced but once he starts playing more at the top level - he'll rise. I'll never forget Emma Quayle's pre-draft opinion on Blake where she said - "this kid may end up the best of his draft year. Has all the tools" (or words to that effect).

Jack Sinclair? Caulfield Grammar. We needed a rookie selection and the club polled the new draftees asking them "who was the best player you played with in TAC Cup who wasn't drafted. Billings made a massive play for Sinclair. And now we have a potential jet .... for FREE!!!
