Richo takes Paul Roos' scalp
Richo completely out coached Roos today. Our goals were so easy and the Dee's were one dimensional.

Jesse Hogan. Game plan is to open the forward line for him. Pretty obvious.Goose is king wrote:Richo completely out coached Roos today. Our goals we so easy and the Dee's were one dimensional.

Where are the Richo haters today? Cant coach, no defensive structures, too stubborn, blah blah blah.

Re: Richo takes Paul Roos' scalp
I love the way we're moving the ball down the guts. Prepared to take it on and get it into F50 fast. Loving seeing our guys playing with flair and confidence. One thing I thought could have been better today was it came out of their defensive 50 a bit too easy at times. Across half back they had too much space sometimes. But very happy with the way our game is developing.

On that point of movement up the midfield, it's the way we do it. A couple times we actually zigzagged through the square. Kick across , mark , wheel around and kick it back the other way. It's so unpredictable at it creates a huge issue for opposition defenders.

It's not the one dimensional, "kick it to the big blonde fella" any more is it?Griggsy wrote:On that point of movement up the midfield, it's the way we do it. So refreshing to see. Billings, Dunstan, Ross - all delivering inside 50. Lots of run and overlap. Love to see that. If the ball carrier gets pressured there are options because the target point is not always #12.

Watching the replay the Melbourne coaching staff had no idea what was going on.

Re: Richo takes Paul Roos' scalp
He's been outcoached on quite a few occasions and their results are just so inconsistent.
I know that the succession plan was bedded down early and Goodwin is a huge part of the coaching team, but...surely there's a teeny weeny bit of a Malcolm Blight feel when you consider that Roos was coaxed out of coaching retirement and stated he'd only do it for 3 years. In fact he's not only leaving coaching, he's leaving Australia next year
The Dees (and the AFL) have invested $$millions in getting this guy, but seriously...how invested is Roos is in the Dees?

Re: Richo takes Paul Roos' scalp
So based purely on list age/experience the teams we should beat are:
Pies
Suns
Demons
Lions
Bombers
Based on form the other teams we should beat are:
Tigers
Dockers
Blues
Looking at the draw...
We could get a maximum of 11 wins. I think 9-10 wins for the season is now par.
Pre-season I thought 8 was par but I had no idea Collingwood, Freo and Richmond would be so bad.
We could finish as high as 9th but now I cant see us finishing below 12th. So a draft pick in the 7-9 range looks likely.
