Reckon Dunstan, Webster are certainties. Minch should hold his spot. Lonie or Acres to be one in and one out. Membrey and Billy there as back-up.

I think if Dunstan and Webster pull up ok they will go in. Eli's out and maybe Sinclair or Acres to go out. I think you've got to back Hickey to get the job done on Mummy alone with his form. He's doing well in the ruck and can hurt Mummy around the ground.

Did Acres sleep with the wife/daughter/cousin?
Jesus he's stiff.
When is he contracted to?

Posting 20 years of holey crap!
Re: Team v GWS
Shame about the Blacres but someone had to give to get both Jimmy and Dunny back in. And we don't know if he is doing all the things they want him to do or not meeting a standard or they are worried about him being able to back up after a tough game. I'm just putting it down to the 'big guys take time' principal. As long as he keeps soaking in all the knowledge around him he'll be a ripper.

It had to be Acres or Minchington to make way and perhaps Minch showed a bit more.loris wrote:Blake doesn't chase opponents if the ball gets through the mid field. His defensive pressure needs plenty of work IMHO.
The only other one who may have been tested was Lonie but has s bit of X factor round the goals.

Re: Team v GWS
Of course Lee held his spot. He played well and we need a key defender to fill the injury to Roberton. You can't put Spud Delaney in and Goddard appears not to be ready at this stagefreely wrote:Interesting to see that Lee held his spot. Reckon Webster has a bit of class - be nice to see him freed up on the wing.

Lonie and Sinclair having been setting the world on fire of late so it could have been one of those two to make way instead of 8cres.longtimesaint wrote:It had to be Acres or Minchington to make way and perhaps Minch showed a bit more.loris wrote:Blake doesn't chase opponents if the ball gets through the mid field. As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Team v GWS
That could be the standards thing Tony said he wasn't meeting. Sinclair got dropped for not chasing his man enough as well. Maybe Acres doesn't have the tank yet for full two way running in the incredibly fast AFL - he's a big unit. I think he is only playing 60-70% game time or something which indicates he might not be able to run out full games yet.loris wrote:Blake doesn't chase opponents if the ball gets through the mid field. Re: Team v GWS
From memory it was 58% game time last week I think. Numbers were impressive considering but I'm guessing he has issues keeping with the pace for 4 quarters which doesn't suit our current running style. He was involved around clearances I think but not sure if I saw him too much as part of those running chains moving forward.Bluthy wrote:That could be the standards thing Tony said he wasn't meeting. Re: Team v GWS
I am a bit confused about Webster this week and last. Why did he miss against the Hawks? Was he ill or injured? I can't recall.
Did he come back too soon? 7 disposals. Why play a sick or injured Webster and leave a healthy Acres in the sheds?

Clearly they are having 2nd thoughts on Acres, and so they should.Con Gorozidis wrote:I am a bit confused about Webster this week and last. Why did he miss against the Hawks? Was he ill or injured? I can't recall.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

What do you mean by '2nd thoughts' and I am trying to get to the bottom of what (if anything) has ailed Jimmy the last fortnight?Wayne42 wrote:Clearly they are having 2nd thoughts on Acres, and so they should.Con Gorozidis wrote:I am a bit confused about Webster this week and last. Edit: looked this up. Webster had a sore calf or hamstring apparently?
