Re: Changes vs Hawks
Not sure on the concussion rules, but if Paddy misses give Acres a run.
Lee for Roberton.

I think that rule is no longer in place? They now leave it up to club doctors with the general directive to treat with caution.matrix wrote:Dont you have to miss one if you fail a concussion test?
No?
You have to feel for Tom Lee. Talk about unlucky. In the nab game 1 he is forced fwd in the first 5 minutes. The 2nd one is washed out. Now he finally might get a chance to show what he can do down back and it against the hawks in Tassie.

Re: Changes vs Hawks
Lee should get a run for Roberton, play comparable role and Lee deserves it as looked good on Saturday albeit only saw first half, but his kicking, which I've read a lot about lately, was pure sex.

Re: Changes vs Hawks
What I don't understand is that they had 20 minutes to decide whether either player can come back on. Wasn't the 20 minute thing more to do with the sub rule? Now that there is no more sub then what's the difference if one of the guys stay off for a 1/4 or even more and, if they then pass the test can come back on?Con Gorozidis wrote:I think that rule is no longer in place? Re: Changes vs Hawks
I'm wondering if they will try and get Acres in the team now. His strength and height could be really valuable if Paddy and/or Roo is out. YOu could even give him a tagging role on Mitchell which is a good way to learn what the best players do up close and the patterns they run.

Re: Changes vs Hawks
Just checked the Auroa ground's diminesions and from that it is actually bigger than the G. 175 x 145 m vs 171 x 146 m. The MCG space suited us, but it certainly also suits the kicking skills of the Hawks. So with the current kicking form of Lee that could be a real asset as turnovers will kill us.millarsaint wrote:Lee should get a run for Roberton, play comparable role and Lee deserves it as looked good on Saturday albeit only saw first half, but his kicking, which I've read a lot about lately, was pure sex.
Hawks will not let Savage loose like the Pies and so having several kicking options will will improve our options to get the ball out of our back half. Watch how the Hawks will leave Geary free hoping that we go through him rather than Savage/Webster or Lee.

Re: Changes vs Hawks
How did he look with the ball on the deck MS? That's been one of my concerns Mr Lee - he looked clunky below his knees and you have to do a lot of ground mop work in defence these days.millarsaint wrote:Lee should get a run for Roberton, play comparable role and Lee deserves it as looked good on Saturday albeit only saw first half, but his kicking, which I've read a lot about lately, was pure sex.

No more Shaggy from Scooby Doo!
He is now business at the front and business at the back! Indicates his belief he can go fwd or back.

I think he plays seniors or not at all next week
There were some fantastic glimpses of his AFL-level potential against Collingwood. At this point, he needs to become attuned to playing that level in order for the club to foster his talent.
No point in dropping him to Sandy. He should be either playing against Hawthorn or taking a week off as a precautionary measure to the concussion he suffered last weekend.

Lee for Roberton.
ROo is self diagnosing these days with an eye on the years down the track and erring on the side of caution
Paddy i saw more a momentary lapse due to his diabetes rather than a heavy knock

I was in December 2016.

It was available (though slow I believe), though I did not access it as one of the reasons I went trekking for 14 days was to get away from technology. Compared to my last trek in Nepal 30 years ago ( to 5700m at Kala Patthar overlooking Everest Base Camp) the main differences were that the food was better, and that mobile phones and internet were available. Views were still breathtaking, people still very friendly and the only directions that counted were still how far up or down was I walking that day!sunsaint wrote: hows the internet up that way?

Re: Changes vs Hawks
I'm assuming that Roo & Paddy will play and I think they've got to find room for Acres (we need his big body against the Hawks), therefore:
Out: Roberton (injured) & Sinclair (unlucky).
In: Murdoch & Acres.

Re: Changes vs Hawks
Out: Roberton (inj), McCartin (conc), Minch
In: Lee, Acres, Membrey
Unlucky: Eli, Minch
Minch unlucky along with Gresh and Eli but if McCartin and Roberton are out we will be a team of slow midgets.
So for team balance id bring in Lee, Acres and Membrey.

I don't agree with Minch out. In/out/in/out......give him a number of games on the trot to find his feet.Con Gorozidis wrote:Out: Roberton (inj), McCartin (conc), Minch

Re: Changes vs Hawks
Looking at Passy on the interchange bench after the knock he certainly looked a bit in la la land. Reminded me off my own concussed states in the past - just not quite there.

Re: Changes vs Hawks
I cant really see why Minch would be dropped on the back of that game. I honestly think our forward line could be the difference.st.byron wrote:I don't agree with Minch out. I'd go like for like and bring in Lee for Robbo. I reckon Paddy will play along with Roo.
I'd love to get Acres back in but I cant really see where.
