Has the heart of a lion ..sticks up for his team mates at any cost even if he is taking on a six foot six defender ...if he was a meter taller he would be Buddyesque...

Loves looking for a free… great energy… If he can improve his goal kicking accuracy then look out.

A bit like Milney, if he's under pressure and on the boundary line, he'll nail it. Set shot though, forget it :)

Jack tried a few tricks today which didn't come off like the look away handball....I'd rather he sticks to doing the basics well rather than the fancy stuff.

Love his energy and the pressure he provides but let's hope he doesn't have too many brain fades like Milney used to.

Some players though need to break the rules and play with natural flair. That's what makes them stand apart and is their asset.

You need to encourage it to a degree.

i'll take the brain fades if he mirrors Milney in everything else.

Yep, let hope Lonie doesn't have 574 brain fades, to be exact.

+1

Doesn't do enough yet to be an automatic selection each week. 10 possessions at 30% disposal efficiency is not a good game.

He definitely puts in hard work, think he got scolded for his snap in the 1st(?) with other options available. Could see his relief when the ball came back after the kick in and roo slotted his goal, think there was apology in there too.

The thing I love most is his competitiveness! He's like a little footy version of Lleyton Hewitt! So tenacious and just hates getting beaten!! Confident he'll be an A grade star!! Looks a real team man as well!

any chance the club could get Milne in as a specialist forwards coach? Lonie and Sinclair could really benefit from it.

Looks like the jumper number is not the only thing that Adam Schneider passed on to him...Terrible accuracy at the moment...If he improves that part of his game then the sky's the limit.

Absolutely love watching Little-boy Lonie. Very dangerous player. Opposition teams will leave him unchecked at their own peril.

I love his forward pressure, but I think he might benefit from a couple of weeks in the VFL if he can't hit the score board this week

Will be a player once he gets comfortable playing at the top level

Needs to learn to pass the ball.

Rewatched the first quarter. Had to chuckle at Lonie charging at Ben Reid (who must weigh about 100kg) after he roughed up McCartin. Then Lonie runs off to his man and then Bruce starts shoving on Reid too.

I think we have to remember with Lonie he's only got one season under his belt including one full preseason. I think he still needs to build up his leg strength to do that real twisty turny evasion stuff he has shown he is capable of in bits that got us really excited. Likewise his decision making will get better with experience and when he is not getting so fatigued. But if this is where he is at after one season imagine a few seasons under his belt.

I like his attitude, but still has a way to go and probably just needs to do a bit more of everything and work on his crumbing and accuracy.
