Re: Nathan Freeman does hammy
For goodness sake, don't give him the number 2 jumper!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
Re: Nathan Freeman does hammy
First thing you think of is poor kid. Must be frustrating as hell for him. Look the reality is the club probably would have expected this. The idea that we would magically stumble on the right formula straight off the bat after it stumped Collingwood for 2 years is fanciful. It's a process of trial and error as the club get to know his complex condition in depth. We built up this bit, but now this bit tweaks. Lets try this and see how that impacts other areas. It'll be a learning curve for the medico's.
We seem to have a pretty good team working on soft-tissue injuries in the last few years. Gilbert, Fisher, Schneider etc all had set backs but seemed to end up with solid solutions to their problems. Hopefully in the longterm its the same for Freeman. The danger is Freeman keeps missing games when he's already missed 2 crucial development years. He's still young but he needs to be learning his craft out in the middle, not just off a whiteboard.

I'm delighted we only traded away our 2nd round pick not our 1st round pick for a zero gamer with very dodgy hammies

Not surprised someone with an injury history like Freeman's is now injured. Collingwood must laughing their ass off.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

They've still got Scharenberg from the same draft (and who still hasn't played a game) so they may not be laughing too hard.bobmurray wrote:Not surprised someone with an injury history like Freeman's is now injured. Collingwood must laughing their ass off.
Seems to be a fair number of high draft picks from that particular draft with leg problems (including our own Billings)

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

I must admit I had to look this up but you are correct. He looks to have finished the season strongly:magnifisaint wrote:Scharenburg has played about 4 gamesMr Magic wrote:They've still got Scharenberg from the same draft (and who still hasn't played a game) so they may not be laughing too hard.bobmurray wrote:Not surprised someone with an injury history like Freeman's is now injured. But where is he currently?
Out injured again?
The point I was making is that it appears to be not just Freeman suffering continuing leg issues.

A two week hamstring strain in mid December! Oh no, hopefully he's ready for the season proper which is only 12 WEEKS after he's due back to full training!

I was going to say similar but maybe SP is having a go at the pies. Who knows.

Did it in November some time. That is nasty. Not good at all.
I also noticed the other day that Alex Johnson from the Swans career is pretty much over at age 23 after he won a flag aged 20. Lucky they recruited Michael Talia.

Re: Nathan Freeman does hammy
Just a theory but maybe the part of his hammy that he got repaired is stronger than the surrounding area, so he needs to get the surrounding muscle up to strength. Just a theory though. The muscle is only as strong as the weakest fibre.

Re: Nathan Freeman does hammy
'strain' doesnt sound too bad. If it was 'tear' id be worried. they are probably just being cautious and he is probably thinking about it a lot/lacks confidence. just needs time and patience.

Re: Nathan Freeman does hammy
Hopefully he comes up ok by the start of season 2016, but I am a tad concerned that we took on such a risk. Then again, Judd had serious shoulder problems before he hit the big time, so let's keep fingers crossed.

Re: Nathan Freeman does hammy
I'm sorry mr know it all if I wasn't happy with us trading away our 2nd round pick for next year. Sure, no drama if we finish 10th but if it's another (likely) bottom four finish its a high price to pay.Bunk_Moreland wrote:I don't know why you even support the Saints.
