Where do you see our improvement in 2016?

As a team we may not improve much, but players will obviously develop and improve.
Unfortunately we have a couple of important players in decline.

The following players did not contribute much last year and may contribute a lot more this year.
This would lead to an improved performance.
Templeton, Hickey, Acres, Billings, Carlisle, and McCartin.
How do you like them apples. That is a lot of pure talent to add to the team.

This.
And this why I believe we will tread water in 2016. If we only win 6 games technically we will have fared worse than we did in 2015, but if we can stop the floggings we suffered semi-regularly over the past two seasons, I will be reasonably satisfied. The midfield is where I would like to see the most improvement as when other sides get a run on we have been rudderless to stop it and counter-punch.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

I reckon we will win anywhere from 6 to 10 games in 2016. I'm not fussed how many we win. I am fussed about our %. I would like to see it around 90% by seasons end. If by the end of 2016 we have 8 wins and a percentage of 90 and more importantly another 20 games in all of our under 22 year olds I'll be happy. Then in 2017 we are back in the finals.

But 2017 is 2003 and we didn't make finals in that year.citywest wrote:I reckon we will win anywhere from 6 to 10 games in 2016. I'm not fussed how many we win. I am fussed about our %. Yeah, but 2003 we finished 11th with 11 wins and 11 losses and were the glamour team of the AFL. Don't you worry about my signature. We are tracking smack bang right on it.SaintPav wrote:But 2017 is 2003 and we didn't make finals in that year.citywest wrote:I reckon we will win anywhere from 6 to 10 games in 2016. Geez I hope not. You do realize that we haven't won a grand final since 1966 and certainly not since 1999 when your fantasy sig is starting from.citywest wrote:Yeah, but 2003 we finished 1th with 11 wins and 11 losses and were the glamour team of the AFL. Any improvement is welcome though and if we can cover the loss (and then some) of our elder statesmen over the next few years then we may just win another one.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!
