not off to a flyer
Sends a little shudder down my back to see our 2 big recruits
1 misses first two weeks because ... we all know why
2 is listed as starting light training, although official remain "confident of him been ready for round 1" .......... I give you A Hamill 2 weeks
I am hopefully proven to be wrong and/or too pessimistic but it does not instil me a huge sense of confidence

lol - why, when it is so much better to be a Henny Penny?saintly wrote:a little bit of optimism wouldn't go astray.
The club is looking very closely at Freemans running style and is on a modified program because of that.
they want to see what loading they can put through a young body without overloading it.
Heaven forbid they actually take care some 6 months out from the season proper
No, just go all concern troll the first training session back in mid November.
What a mindset

Re: not off to a flyer
um on the scale of optimism I rate myself somewhere around 7, you can go back through my posts if you like
my point is that (and I like to gamble) right now we have gambled on our two picks (not all of our own doing mind you) and that that is one too many gambles
Bunk can you take me through what concern troll is, is that a horse in the first tomorrow

Re: not off to a flyer
Relax and enjoy the off-season, TSR.
We'll hopefully pick up a couple of handy young guns in the draft. The team will be looking a million bucks by the time February comes around.
Also, let's not forget how well the club has gone about in dealing with the Carlisle controversy.

Oh no, comments that Carlisle is "not quite ready" from the club.
OMG. what have we done? A bloke on the 9th of Nov is not quite ready.

The club also looked very closely at the running style of Jesse Smith, so hopefully they can actually do something about Freeman's running style instead of just taking a glance at it and hoping for the best!Bunk_Moreland wrote:lol - why, when it is so much better to be a Henny Penny?saintly wrote:a little bit of optimism wouldn't go astray.

What are you o about. Jess Smiths ankle was stuffed and he gave it one last go. I saw his last game and he was all class. However his ankle would t hold up.darylcowie wrote:The club also looked very closely at the running style of Jesse Smith, so hopefully they can actually do something about Freeman's running style instead of just taking a glance at it and hoping for the best!Bunk_Moreland wrote:lol - why, when it is so much better to be a Henny Penny?saintly wrote:a little bit of optimism wouldn't go astray.

Freeman is in for the long haul. The club is doing the right thing. Do we want another Koschitzke and Ball situation on our hands?

In my most optimistic opinion Carlisle will need the first 2 rounds in the VFL to get up to scratch and then will be ready to go in round 3 I reckon.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Oh no, comments that Carlisle is "not quite ready" from the club.

Seriously?
The fact we make the news with Jake in a good light 'working hard' is enough for me.

Re: not off to a flyer
My eyebrows raised a bit when I heard Carlisle was on light duties. But really its safety first and not knowing what you are getting when a player comes from another club as you don't have all the fitness and health data for their previous years. We know Jake has been recently been shoving drugs and god knows what else (alcohol, s*** food etc) into his system.. It's a bit like buying a second car. You don't instantly take it out and thrash it to the max as you don't know how its been kept. So you ease your way into it. So they are taking a conservative, softly, softly approach and will ramp up his training as they feel confident he can handle things.
Likewise Freeman with his horrendous hamstring run that has left scar tissue they have had to do further operations on. First job is just to get the kid on the park. They'll be taking all precautions with him. WE've invested a lot in Freeman and Carlisle - both draft picks and wages. We will be ultra conservative until we get some hard data on how their bodies (and minds) are tracking.
