No I don't rate him....saintjake wrote:Does anyone here rate Jay Clarke from the Hearld Sun?
He was the one that tweeted possibly Billings for Carlisle.
And in a Q&A today someone asked him who the Saints would have to give up if they were going to keep pick 5 and get Carlisle and he said Acres.
He can't be serious can he?
For mine he seems to have a big reputation but I haven't seen him get anything right so far - aside from the obvious.

This would be a fantastic outcome for us......where do we sign?Armoooo wrote:If he wants to go for one last crack I certainly wouldn't have any issues. If he wanted to go to North I think we should try and get him there.Kernal75 wrote:Big Footy board is awash with speculation that North are into Montagna and Saints are open to the idea of trading him. The story goes he wants one last crack at a premiership and wants to explore the idea of moving clubs.
We should be able to get a 2nd round pick for him despite his age given his current output and the state of North's list but if they would be willing to downgrade their first that might be the better result.
Our 2nd and 3rd to Collingwood for Freeman and their 2nd.
Collingwood's 2nd and Montagna to North for their 1st.
North's 1st for Carlisle.

So your saying our second pick and montagna for Carlisle and Freeman??The Recruit wrote:This would be a fantastic outcome for us......where do we sign?Armoooo wrote:If he wants to go for one last crack I certainly wouldn't have any issues. Collingwood's 2nd and Montagna to North for their 1st.
North's 1st for Carlisle.
I'd rather Joey a 1 club player to be honest.
Our second + something for Carlisle and our 3rd pick for Freeman. If we pay more than our third for Freeman then Collingwood won the trade.

North are not going to bridge the gap to Hawthorn or Eagles by recruiting players like Joey.saintbob wrote:Joey's going no where, besides North don't really need him they already got enough mids
He has been a great player for us but now at the end of his career.
This policy will see North bottom 6 in a couple of years.
One year will be our year

Two-horse race for Carlisle
While newly appointed Essendon coach John Worsfold told 3AW on Monday he would talk to Jake Carlisle about reversing his decision to leave the club, the race for his services appears to have narrowed to two.
The Herald Sun is reporting Carlisle has met with St Kilda a second time, with the Saints keen to give him a permanent home in his preferred position in the backline.
But the travel distance between his Ascot Vale home and Seaford is proving a consideration for him.
Carlisle is also being pursued by Carlton and is expected to make a decision before the end of the week.

Joey should of moved on two years ago.
He admitted he found the rebuild hard, wish he didn't and kept it to himself.

On the money he'd be on you'd expect him to move otherwise Carltoon will be his destination. No one would like to travel an hr and half each way to work. I reckon he'd prefer to play for St Kilda though.Playon wrote:Two-horse race for Carlisle

Ascot vale to Seaford.
47 mins without traffic, 56 with.
It is roughly ten minutes more than my daily commute so I don't have a lot of sympathy.
Suck it up sunshine. 700k a year could make that trip rather comfortable.
If this is the sticking point, then walk away Saints. He will get the sooks up six months down the track.

You may have a point. His decision won't make or break the Saints.

Seems unhinged to me, regardless of wada.
Perceptions aren't reality I realise, but just an opinion.

On his money, buy 3 houses, hire a chauffeur. A chopper to Moorabbin airport. We'll be in Moorabbin soon enough

Great to chat with St Kilda Chief Operating Officer Ameet Bains this morning in the studio.
Listen back to the full chat here: https://soundcloud.com/nabtr…/ameet-bai ... rade-radio
Summary:
- Confirms Jake Carlisle had a medical at the club yesterday
- Still a bit more to follow-up with Carlisle
- Carlisle's strength is to play both ends...but we'd look to play him predominantly as a defender
- The race for Carlisle is down to the Saints or the Blues
- They're very progressed in chats with Nathan Freeman
- Freeman is a player who "definitely" fits their needs
- They're confident they can get him fit
- Asked the question on Treloar, but didn't think they were ever in the picture

I spoke things change in life so good luck to him if he does want to go like dal did.
Carlisle can get f***ed...50 min drive and this is a thing he is considering??

What a sook.
Fair dinkum.

Seems as though the travel doesn't worry him too much.
Two meetings, a medical , and another medical planned for Thursday. All at Seaford

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Gotta be crap.
Who would complain about having to do 2 hrs comute in a top of the range car going home to a decent house with all the trimmings while earning over 300 grand?
Get in the real world if you're going to whine about that kind of hardship.
For 300+ I'd fly interstate and home again daily ffs

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
No doubts, wouldnt bother me for an extra 200k a year
Still it must of been a factor or it wouldnt of been mentioned.
If Carlton were to up the ante I wonder if we'd still be leading the race.
Its a good thing were moving from Seaford

We will really learn his character if he changes his mind and decides to go to the Hawks. Joey, Stevie J and any other good player should ring up the Hawks pleading with them to take them on. I'm surprised Dangerfield hasn't nominated them. After next year they'll be calling it a Haw peat.
