Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
Bloody Hawks have done it again. Just like last year, game over by quarter time.
Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
Do WC even defend??
Some of their players have been disgusting!!!
Sinclair would be the worst player I've seen on the big stage

Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
That's 12 flags for Hawthorn since 1971. One premiership in less than every 4 years.
You have to respect and admire that.

Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
At 3/4 time of the 1971 Grand Final St Kilda was a dead set certainty to win their second premiership and Hawthorn to be stuck on just 1 premiership. Fast forward to 2015 and........... I cried in 1971, I cried in 1997, I cried in 2009 and I cried (twice) in 2010. Oh yeah, St Kilda are still stuck on 1 premiership and Hawthorn just won their 13th.
Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
We know our history... Some are even proud of the fact that they are loyal enough to stick by the club and support its every move... They take solace in the fact that they are good supporters
We are a tragedy, and it actually makes me sick in the guts with jealousy... I hate losing, and like all of us, hope for success... But deep in the back of my mind, I know the reality is that we make too many critical errors to win the ultimate prize.
It's why I challenge club decisions... Because historically we have got more wrong than right

Absolute class by hawks today. Shows what the Pelican was able to set up. Hopefully what we have to look forward to in the future.

Big Boy McEvoy now has 2 flags, he must love the fact the Saints moved him on.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
Premierships are lovely, but at the end of the day they aren't why we follow our chosen club.
Good on the Hawks! Not jealous at all. Love the Saints regardless. If we ever win one I'll be rather happy, if not, such is life.
I actually first supported Hawthorn. Used to jump for marks crying "Knights!" back in 78. But was a bigger Port, Parramatta, and Man Utd fan. Then I watched the first game of 79 and by quarter time had switched allegiance to the Saints - don't know why? Underdogs? Cool guernsey? Cool number font? That year VFL became my favourite local comp. When I played in the late eighties in Vic it was in Hawthorn jumpers, and cheered them in every grand final. But I was a Saints man. My wife today asked me if I regretted watching that game in 79. Not one bit!

The disappointment of being traded will be well and truly forgotten now.
Good on him.....couldn't be happier for him!!

Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
We let Ben go for a reason.
He got us another pick in the top 20 plus a player that was....well #23 on a premiership list.
At a time when we were 100% balls to the wall in a rebuild.
Gutsy move by us, A move to build a premiership list.
Ben topped Hawthorn up for yet another tilt. I was stoked for him today. Dual premiership player and really one of their best today.
You never know. When Clarkson signed up at Hawthorn they were pretty average. Just sacked a coach and were dreadful. Four years later they won their first of four...so far.
Perhaps we are building to something even remotely similar.

Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!
He is developing nicely. The frightening thing is he still has improvement in him. Shows what a great environment and fierce competition for spots can do for a young man's development. Have to feel for Jonathon Ceglar. Seemed to be ahead of Ben last year and I believe he got injured. Ben took his chance. McEvoy - 2, Ceglar - 0.BigMart wrote:McEvoy
