We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Just watching the Sandy final. Geez!, Sipposs has some sublime foot skills. His ability to hit a target, or put it to the advantage to a team mate over distance (50-60 metres) is fantastic. Something that doesn't grow on trees.

Imagine Sippos and Savage coming off Half Back and pumping it long to Bruce and Paddy. He just has to get his body right and he will be a beauty. I just hope the selectors haven't given up on him.

Agreed. He's looking good. If we don't persevere with him someone will pick him up. Hope he doesn't become the one that got away.citywest wrote:Imagine Sippos and Savage coming off Half Back and pumping it long to Bruce and Paddy. Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Look forward to seeing the stats, thought he was okay at best.
Kicked long but that was about it not hard enough dropped marks he should have held.

Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
I doubt Arryn has the all round game to survive the chop. Given the amount of time he's had on the list, he'd want to have shown a lot more than he has over the course of the year. I believe there are too many ahead of him for a spot in the seniors, which brings me to the bigger problem.
He's never had a clear position or role in the team. He's one of those unfortunate "in between" types, who doesn't seem to be suited to a particular, clearly defined role. Yes, he's a beautiful kick, but that's about all. These days you need more than just one strength. As a lifelong saints fan, he's lived every young boy's football fantasy. At least he'll always have that.

I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Would love Sippa to be kept on the list, has the most beautiful kick and so much potential, also a life long saints man too. However seems like he has been given the chop which is disappointing but probably understandable considering his last few years. Might have left his run too late this year, hope he can be given a rookie spot at best

Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Siposs has had 5 years to develop, not sure another year will see much improvement. I think he's more suited to VFL
Posting 20 years of holey crap!
Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
I only saw the second half and he was ordinary. Anyway the fate of most if not all would have been decided before yesterday.

Agree. We should try and keep him at Sandy next year then he can be a Saint again in our VFL reserves side in 2017magnifisaint wrote:Siposs has had 5 years to develop, not sure another year will see much improvement. I think he's more suited to VFL

Why? Wouldn't it be better that we have different players?saintspremiers wrote:Agree. Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Because once we delist him I would like him to become a Sandy player rather than go to a country league similar to what TDL and CJ have done which has worked well.plugger66 wrote:Why? But I'm sure you have called him a hack or something similar but just lose and then abuse I suppose. Anyway its unlikely the saints would pay the money these type of guys will require when we have our own side.

Yes he's a hack AFL player but the VFL is miles below and at his level. TDL was the ultimate hack AFL player also.
As for how much they are paid at VFL level I can't imagine it would be huge. Where does Sandy the money from and why would they have more reserves than us??

Maybe try the brain to answer the last question. We would have to come up with extra. Sandy don't pay for our players but we would have to pay for our players as well as top ups. I doubting we are going to spend as much as Sandy to top up. And yep love the word hack about a saints player and you call me an idiot.

Agree. It's a shame. A few years ago a lot of people thought he could be the next BJmagnifisaint wrote:Siposs has had 5 years to develop, not sure another year will see much improvement. I think he's more suited to VFL

Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Other than the goal and nice kicking, I thought his tackling aggressiveness was good and good last week too. Also he's looked more toey. A rookie spot would be ok for me.

Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
Has not had the best of runs injury wise.
The physio report on him a week or so ago on the Club's website was interesting.
There are a few I would get rid of on our List before Sippos - including some who remain contracted.

Re: We Really Want To Keep Sippos
I think people are seduced by a long kick and that he grew up a saints fan.
He's patchy at VFL level & miles off AFL level IMO.
I haven't seen anything in 5 years that lives up to the hype he gets on here unfortunately.

Scott Watters was a huge wrap for him and that's good enough for me.
