Stevie J playing forward coach
Great for a year on field then in the box there after. Reckon our young forwards would learn a heap.

Nah, He'll surely head to a club who think they're in the 'window' and want a top up player

Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Why why why?
For starters he'd want to play finals. Secondly I don't think he'd want to play for St Kilda.

Let's trade Jack Steven for him?

Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Would make an ideal replacement for Sneider and is a much better player. If he would come on three years one playing two coaching I would be happy with that.

Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Reckon he'd be wrapt with a 12 month contract, would come relatively cheap, and would add a bit of class to our forward line.
The trade off is that he would add a positive to our forward line, but the negative is that he would take the place of a kid.
I'd be happy if we got him.

I can honestly say I don't see the point. Anyway may as well start a thread that we are getting Fyffe because we have equal hope of both and that is exactly 0%.

Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Well, I'll agree and disagree. Don't see the point; fair arguement. He may have one or two years left, certainly won't be in our next premership team, and he would deprive a kid of gaining match experience. But I disagree that we have no hope of getting him; my understanding is that he wants to play football and will probably take the best offer he gets. If we offer 'match payments', and a 12 month contract, and if there is no other interest (doubt it), he'll be happy to play for the Saints.plugger66 wrote:I can honestly say I don't see the point. Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Some players just don't know when their time is up, Stevie J is one of them.
What will he do now that his playing days are done ?
What will he do now that his playing days are done ?
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

My reasoning that we have no hope of getting him is simple. Our club wont have the slightest interest and thank goodness. Great player but he needs to do to a side who gets knocked out in the semi's or prelim. Icing on the cake to them.

I would have thought McCartin Lonie Sinclair deserve the development more than we need Stevie J.

Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Anyone who thinks Stevie J would be a good idea needs to remember Monkhorst and Tony Francis.
Their heart just aren't in it, especially if the new side is struggling.

Re: Stevie J playing forward coach
Personally I don't think Stevie J works for us. He will either go to a side in the top 6 or he wont go on. It wouldn't suit either party for him to go to a developing side down the bottom half. Hence why Geelong probably parted ways.
But these last two finals games have really shown the value of quality small fwds.
Le Cras, Hill, Cripps, Walters, Ballantyne, Betts, Cameron have kicked 20 goals between them. 4 of those 7 indigenous.
So hopefully Lonie, Billings and Sinclair can become regular goal scorers.
