Re: Saints v Swans Match Thread
Let's not get too heart broken, it's been a pretty long season and this is 1 vs 18 from last years H&A.
This is disappointing, but shouldn't be completely unexpected.

Murdoch wins it. Gets clear. Then handballs to the feet of a man standing still surrounded by three Swans. Swans goal.

Well the modern day game is all about pressure, and we've had no scoreboard pressure whatsoever, That will improve when the players that we have out come back.Saint_J wrote:VFL standard Playon... what a shocker...Playon wrote:We'd need them to kick it for us. Were just not here to play, either were having an off day or were ordinary, I'm hoping its the off day but geez some of those mistakesSaint_J wrote:been very one sided imo... but agree we're playing bloody terrible footy.Playon wrote:As much as I'd like to blame the umps......Saint_J wrote:UMPs have been told to make sure sydney finish 4th need to keep NSW footy alive....
We were always going to be inconsistent this year and probably next. the year following maybe maybe not, Its just hard to watch when were down.
The positives are there though, the kids will improve, we have more draft options coming and at some stage we'll compete for a FA

We are miles off top 4. In fact we are miles off 12th (Collingwood). Geelong really should be down at 13th with us. But take out Joey, Roo, Dempster and Fisher and we are miles off emerging young sides like Pies/GWS/Dogs. We will need more than just picks 6 & 24 in this years draft to be competitive.

Terrible effort, Sydney outplaying us on every line. Sydney have our defensive pressed figured out and they've put up a defensive wall which we simply don't have the foothills to get through.

Hickey was subbed to give Holmes a full game as they clearly didn't care about today's result.Saint_J wrote:based on today sure Hickey will be wanting a trade.

Last year we were 18th from 18. So yes we are much improved. But not a very high bench mark.Saint_J wrote:just frustrated with today.. overall been a great year compared to lastseano1 wrote:Saint_J wrote:based on today sure Hickey will be wanting a trade.

Goodes gets a soft 50 that this time the umpire sees and they goal.
