Spencer is OOC & is moving on for a fresh start.

Re: Saints in for Aish
I would give our first round draft pick and sweeten it even with a bottom end player if thats what it took to get him here!! He'd be perfect with reagrds to what we need, skillful quick midfielders!! He could accelerate our rise up the ladder which is why i'd pay our current first rounder and then some!!
He had an excellent debut season, this season has been a struggle but there's plenty going on up in brissy and a bit of second year blues is nothing to worry about, he'll be a very very good player!!
As for the go home factor and not going all out for him - strewth Stephen Kernahan was SA royalty, didn't stop the blues from getting him!! F*** the go home factor and give it a real shake he would be a very good addition to our playing group! IMO of course

He was only pick 7 anyway and now you want to give away pick 6 or 7. Even though he had a good first year I don't think he has done enough to keep his value. Surely its dropped a bit. Low to mid teens seems to me where he should be placed.

Re: Saints in for Aish
There was no AFL in 1986, and no possibility of a composite SA team. But Sticks is a good example of the 'home' factor in that Carlton signed him in 1981 - he didn't come over until 1986 because he wanted to win a flag with Glenelg first.Saint wagga wrote: As for the go home factor and not going all out for him - strewth Stephen Kernahan was SA royalty, didn't stop the blues from getting him!! Re: Saints in for Aish
Agree but what about our pick 6 if they send us Aish plus pick 19? That seems fair. So we would end up with Aish, 19, 24.plugger66 wrote:Saint wagga wrote:I would give our first round draft pick and sweeten it even with a bottom end player if thats what it took to get him here!! I like the way you think. Three way deals are almost impossible to pull off but I like your broad thinking.matrix wrote:what about some kind of three way getting aish to crows and crouch to saints somehow involving brisbane

Bennell without question.Con Gorozidis wrote:Id rather Crouch or Bennell.Sobraz wrote:Aish is slow.
Crouch is an excellent ball winner (contested) but average by foot and doesn't break lines enough. We have enough of those types.
Bennell is pretty much exactly what we need. Unfortunately, doesn't look like coming to us.

Yep but they may not be available. Aish would be a very sound pick up as long as we didn't pay to much.

Re: Saints in for Aish
Agree. But I am not sure Aish is the kind of pacey outsider we need either. He seems more of a solid neat player . We need a line breaker like Bennell or Stevey Motlop...gringo wrote:I prefer outside mids like Aish and Bennell. Crouch I wanted when he was drafted but now we are over stocked with insiders.

Agree, let Collingwood pay overs for Aish. We can do better IMO.Con Gorozidis wrote:Agree. But I am not sure Aish is the kind of pacey outsider we need either. He seems more of a solid neat player . Saints in for Aish & maybe Kelly ?
Saints94 » Fri 28 Aug 2015 10:48am
said "I'd prefer Josh Kelly, for pick 6 & next years second round pick.
been doing the rounds on bigfooty".
I remember Kelly was very highly regarded in his draft year.
Sounded very professional and a relentless runner.
Haven't been following his progress but wonder how he compares to Aish & Bennell?

Straight swap for Spencer seeing you think hes worth a first round pick?[/quote]
I clearly said Spencer White could be part of a pick upgrade of about 6 places not a first round pick
I actually want us to keep Spencer

Re: Saints in for Aish
I get a bit of a Scully impression when I watch Kelly.
Looks a great runner and link player, not sure about his Billings, Bont etc type game breaking ability.

You could be right. Nice player. But I feel we need someone with breakaway pace and a nice kick.Sobraz wrote:I get a bit of a Scully impression when I watch Kelly.

I saw Kelly in both his years at Sandy and looks to small to me for some reason. Never liked him at number 2 but I also thought Plugger was to fat and burke didn't have courage.

Re: Saints in for Aish
Not sure what the hype is regarding Aish, he hasn't done much so far.
His old man didn't play in the VFL so it's not in his DNA, too risky..

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
