Josh Saunders
Rated this kid when we drafted him due to his speed and run.. Obv his disposal isnt the greatest but i think he just needs to slow down and compose himself instead of trying to kick the leather off the ball.. We are crying out for his type in midfield and im really interested to see how he goes today.

Re: Josh Saunders
Agreed like Minchington he has most of the tools to make it and definitely worthy of further development...
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!
Re: Josh Saunders
Shame that he starting as a sub. Hopefully gets a chance over the few weeks gets a couple of full game to get a bit of confidence going into the pre seaon.

Absolute spud. What's worse, they completely disrespected Robert Harvey by giving him #35

Clearly not up to Afl standard but I'm sure Harvey would have no problem with Saunders wearing his old number.
ROBERT HARVEY A.K.A The Great Man, Banger, Harves, Ol' Man River...

Re: Josh Saunders
I think that's a bit silly.
A quarter n a bit doth not a player make... And a lot on the youngins are simply not suited to the sub role. Coming on as impact players is more appropriate for guys like Ray, Schneider, even Savage etc that have the weapons and r ready to go.
Not for guys like Saunders, Wright, Acres who are still working their way into the team

Re: Josh Saunders
Cant judge him on a quarter and a bit esp when we were getting killed in the centre. Needs to play out the rest of the season

Re: Josh Saunders
Not much to him from my perspective. He doesn't look like he has enough natural talent to me, but it is still early days I suppose. A few more games will tell a lot more.
Re: Josh Saunders
Think Sinclair may have a rest this week, has been bruised and baater the last month or so. Lonie is still out for a week or two.saynta wrote:Don't think he will get the chance.S.A Saint wrote:Cant judge him on a quarter and a bit esp when we were getting killed in the centre. Need to get games into him and see how he and a few others go becuase i can see a fair few players being on the chopping bloke next season if they cant string 15 or so next season.

Re: Josh Saunders
Really surprised he was given a game, hasn't been setting the world on fire at Sandy.
Having said that, we need to play the kids to see what they can do. We can't keep them all.

Re: Josh Saunders
His first quarter of AFL for the year and people right him off.
He just needs to get the speed of the game and composure.
I know he is not elite by foot but his pace may be a handy offensive and defensive asset in the future.
20 years old give him some more time.

Right. Give him a couple more and then we'll be comfortable letting him go. Same probably applies to Minch though he's more handy for mine.Bernard Shakey wrote:Really surprised he was given a game, hasn't been setting the world on fire at Sandy.

Re: Josh Saunders
Thread started well and then went downhill. Might not be good enough but whats the point of knocking the guy. Knock the selectors or the recruiters. Anyway people want the young kids to get a chance and he did.
