For those bigots amongst us who must now be getting tired of racially bashing Adam Goodes, here is another subject you can go off like a penny banger about.

Re: Gay Pride Match
Hey Grumpy....I'm perfectly happy for gay folk to play for St Kilda..or any other team...I'll treat them for their ability, their courage and determination, just the same as any other player...
.....but if that gay player chooses to use the footy field as a forum for promoting gay rights, and especially if he confrontational to me or my ancestors then I may begin to feel unconfortable...

I am sick to death of being lectured to by the chattering class. I am capable of thinking for myself and making my own decisions without the influence of mob mentality.

What's the chattering class? And what are they lecturing on?Trev from the Bush wrote:I am sick to death of being lectured to by the chattering class. I am capable of thinking for myself and making my own decisions without the influence of mob mentality.
I saw this in the other thread but didn't pick up on the context so don't know what it means.
Sincere question.

Be great if this can increase membership and promote the Saints as an inclusive brand, and give us our own locked in Friday night special theme game.
Lol at those that may feel "uncomfortable".

Re: Gay Pride Match
Putting aside if you are pro or against the concept, if it means a bigger than normal crowd then it has a positive financial benefit for our club.
Also, it can only be good re securing large corporates for sponsorship who all have to be seen to be pro gay rights.
Would you like a poll on this?

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Re: Gay Pride Match
Well according to Sam Newman we should all boo Sam Gilbert now, because he is the face of a political movement on the footy field and apparently we simple footy fans can't tolerate that.
Obviously I'm being sarcastic and I think Sam Newman is a "flog." I still wouldn't boo him though because I'm a decent human being.

This.
Political motivations aside, this obviously isn't a completely altruistic move...
It's the Saints cashing in a major political movement, positive press, sponsorships etc
I really like the move

My guess is you're black Grumpy one...I am not a racist but when someone is booed and they're white its ok but when a black person is booed you're a racist...wtf is happening. I thought we're striving for equality no matter what breed colour religion. In fact if you're black G1 you are more a bigot than anyone I knowGrumpyOne wrote:http://www.theage.com.au/afl/st-kilda-l ... ip0kx.html

Now is it ok if I hope my kids all turn out straight, or do I have wish for them to be gay so I do not have homophobic wishes / thoughts?
Are you not being hetrophobic?
