I feel so much more confident with Schneider on board.
Agreed. Good decision afterall one or two more wins may help those behind the scenes next year.
Re: Team v Demons. Schneider in, Ray out
Both Ray & Schneier OOC what does that say about Ray's future?

Re: Squad v Demons. In Schneider, Hickey, Membrey
Hickey needs to be given a go as our 1st ruck with Longer having a spell. Hickey offers just as mush as Longer in the ruck and about 200% more around the ground. I can't see why we don't have a Hickey.stjay wrote:It was asked and he said Longer was keeping Hickey out on form.realdeal wrote:Great news on Richo's extension, can someone now ask him why, if fit, is Hickey not playing 1st ruck?sasaint wrote:Richo speaking about Murdoch.
@AlanRichardson: Hi Steve, two strong performances at VFL level but he is unlikely to play at all this week due to a thigh strain.
Also with Scneids coming in that means we have Lonie, Sinclair, Templeton and Schneids all as short arse small forwards. I think 4 of them is at least 2 too many.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

I don't think the side was picked because of the weather.

So lets get this straight. We played under a roof last week and may play in wet and windy weather tomorrow and the side was influenced by the weather but the only change was mid in for a mid. Doesn't make sense that it was picked because of the weather. Wouldn't McCartin be out? And maybe Goddard.

I'm not sure with the salary cap we will get away with paying Lee with fish next year.

Have you tried to buy fish lately. It isn't cheap.

Ray didn't do much at all against the Tigers last week. Schneids in the wet, may be good for us.
I just hope that Longer lifts his game against Gawn, who was dominant last time that we played the Demons. The MCG is very big and Longer lacks speed to get around the ground.

I'm not sure I get the love for Hickey, he is a trier but I think Longer is a far better prospect.
I think we can find a place for both if the sub rule is scrapped but if we can only play one it is Longer every day of the week.
Hickey can't even seem to hold onto the number one ruck role is the ressies.

You could well be right, but I think we need to actually have a look at him... now is the time to test a few players out.Armoooo wrote:I'm not sure I get the love for Hickey, he is a trier but I think Longer is a far better prospect.

We used a high pick to secure Hickey and 3 years later we still don't really know what he can do at AFL level, meanwhile his stocks are plummeting if we are to trade him out.
Longer looks like he has a bright future, but I think we need to get a look at Hickey too.

Schneids averages 20 touches per game, but he scares me around goal.
If he is "great at coaching on the ground", then make him a runner.

You forgot the two game rule for newbies. Goddard Paddy and Eli all get 2 consecutive games regardless unless injured.plugger66 wrote:tony74 wrote:I'm pretty sure it had an influence.plugger66 wrote:tony74 wrote:Not if its wet and windy.

Anyway, the showers are scattered on the radar and may have cleared completely by 3.20 today.
