Will be disappointed if Goddard gets the chop. He looks more ready for senior football than Paddy at the moment, not that Paddy looks bad in any way

I think he will be ok as long as there is a match up. Not sure there is though. Still may play.

Let Goddard have first crack at Hogan. Two young guns going head to head would be exciting no matter what the result is.

It's going to be 11 degrees and wet on Sunday. That suggests that at least 1 big bloke will miss and the toughest will survive !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I think if his goals had gone through he would have probably been considered to have a very good game.

Re: Squad v Demons. In Schneider, Hickey, Membrey
Even though it looks like a wet day on Sunday, I would still play Hickey, as a tall who can take a mark and is good below his knees is valuable around a wet ground especially against Gawn who is in good form, and if Paddy can't get a touch, then he would sub off and Hickey drops into the forward line. Could be Hickey, Ray, Webster, Eli (sub).

Do you want to play Hickey and Longer? Surely not even if Roo is injured.
Re: Squad v Demons. In Schneider, Hickey, Membrey
Has had a pretty solid season for us. Just feel over the last few weeks he seems to be slowing down a bit (tired body) and wouldn't mind minch or even saunders having a run given the form they have showed in the vfl.gringo wrote:S.A Saint wrote:Lonie very very lucky to remain in the side

Re: Squad v Demons. In Schneider, Hickey, Membrey
Well Longer is barely effective as a ruckman, though he has a good work rate, but is no good in any other position, and Hickey can ruck and can play a bit in the forward line, has good skills so why not. We have the worst centre bounce clearance results in the comp anyway, and once the ball hits the deck, Longer is ineffective.plugger66 wrote:spert wrote:Even though it looks like a wet day on Sunday, I would still play Hickey, as a tall who can take a mark and is good below his knees is valuable around a wet ground especially against Gawn who is in good form, and if Paddy can't get a touch, then he would sub off and Hickey drops into the forward line. Someone on BF suggesting that he may be about to become a dad and that his absence may be related to that.wolfpup wrote:strange. he was BOG 2 weeks in a row in the magoossasaint wrote:Where's Murdoch? Not in the mangoos either

Well you would need to drop Longer then which isn't going to happen because there is no spot in the forward line unless Roo doesn't play and even then a forward line of Hickey, McCartin and Bruce doesn't do it for me. They certainly couldn't play 4 tall in the forward line, surely?

Re: Squad v Demons. In Schneider, Hickey, Membrey
It's the biggest mystery of the year. You've summed up both Longer and Hickey well in those two sentences. Anyone would think from reading that, that Hickey is our first choice ruck. He has class, better skills and can move fwd and kick a goal. But no, we persevere with the bloke who 'tries' hard' but gets beaten every week, and our clearance work continues to get smashed - now that's not entirely his fault, and has something to do with our relatively young mid field. However, Jack and Armo are having great years and so is Joey. I, for the life of me, can't understand why Hickey isn't given a go. There has to be something fundamentally wrong with what he's doing, but it escapes me.spert wrote: Well Longer is barely effective as a ruckman, though he has a good work rate, but is no good in any other position, and Hickey can ruck and can play a bit in the forward line, has good skills so why not. Richo speaking about Murdoch.
@AlanRichardson: Hi Steve, two strong performances at VFL level but he is unlikely to play at all this week due to a thigh strain.

Great news on Richo's extension, can someone now ask him why, if fit, is Hickey not playing 1st ruck?sasaint wrote:Richo speaking about Murdoch.
