Re: Changes next week
Hickey should come in this week - we will need a tall marking forward option on the MCG. We will also need someone who can run with Gawn. Hickey may lose tap outs, but can hurt Gawn going the other way.
Roo won't play this week, he came back on when he was injured and was playing on emotion. Membrey hasn't earned a recall yet. I really want us to win this one and win well. I have a feeling this is our last real winnable one for the season - barring a massive upset of course.
If we win 6 games this year I reckon we'd all be pretty satisfied with the development of the team moving forward.

Re: Changes next week
Watching the replay it just confirms my point and frustration. The free against Roberton was just odd. The ball was coming in and Roberton took his eyes off the ball got location of his opponent stretched out his and made the slightest of body contact with his chest as he and Lennon moved with the flight. Umpire payed the free for blocking and a goal. Two minutes later 15:40 on the clock Ray kicks the ball high into our forward line Batchelor runs straight at McCartin wraps him up keeping him off the drop zone while Rance wraps his arms around Roo and swings him around.
Both infringments ignored 30 out from our goal.
Don't tell me there is no bias.

Yes, I saw those. All were wrong decisions. The AFL should fire whoever is advising the umpires these days.CURLY wrote:Watching the replay it just confirms my point and frustration. Re: Changes next week
I don't know why anyone would consider Sinclair in the mix to be dropped...he had an instant impact when he came on & can actually hit a target.
Eli deserves a decent run at senior level now. He has been great at Sandy for the past month or so in a pure midfield role. He needs a few weeks to adapt to the pace & different role that he's playing. He got into some dangerous spots but unfortunately missed his two chances in front of goal.
Faz was ok
I know the Anti-Longer League is strong here, but I must have been watching the wrong game if people think that Maric dominated. Bringing Hickey in as we need another tall option??? Even if Roo doesn't come up the Bruce/McCartin/Membrey set up is tall enough.
Murdoch needs few more strong performances at Sandy as does Markworth. Hopefully both will get a solid month of senior action before the end of the season. Saunders is very stiff...has been very consistent at Sandy but there's just not a spot for him at present.
Personally I'd stick with the 22 from Sunday unless Roo is out & Stickers Membrey comes in.

Re: Changes next week
Maric is no world beater, but he beat Longer like a rented mule. I'd be inclined to give Hickey a run as No 1 ruckman. AT least he offers an offensive threat occasionally, and can actually move around the ground.

Good call re Rooey and I think Joey and Armo looked proppyplugger66 wrote:Reckon Roo will struggle to come up and either Lonie or Sinclair may miss and also Eli.
Ins Schneider, Murdoch and Membery

This is the week to find out if White, Markworth and Sippos are going to make it
Result is immaterial to our long term plan

I don't think they will do that this week. Hopefully we can beat Melbourne and get a good jump on them on the ladder after this week.

Re: Changes next week
in Saunders and Murdoch, both deserve a chance
out Lonie (looks a bit cooked) and Ray (love him but it's time)
people calling for White , you know he is not even in the Sandy side, so not going to make that jump

Re: Changes next week
People calling for Minchington. NO. He's a stocking filler right now in that he's only on the list because he fits our profile. He offers nothing exceptional in terms of his football and I think there are other players who offer more than he does. It's not a personal thing I just don't think he'll make the grade and will be delisted.
