Say No To Drugs Round concept.....
Given the Adelaide, Gold Coast and ongoing Essendon saga, I think we need an anti-drugs round.
Ideally, one of the split rounds next year when Essendon aren't playing.

I actually think that's a great idea, though the name might have to get tweaked.

Re: Say No To Drugs Round concept.....
Probably the hypocrisy over booze is one reason the concept wouldn't get off the ground.
Don't forget gambling and firearms, btw

Agreed. The same is true for marijuana, and the opposite is true for alcohol. So why are two of them legal and the other not, then?whiskers3614 wrote:Haven't seen too many caffeine addicts harming other people!bergholt wrote:Are we including ciggies, booze and caffeine?asaint wrote:Yes, good idea. Re: Say No To Drugs Round concept.....
If we have a " Say No To Drugs Round" we'll have to give WCE, Gold Coast and Essendon all a bye.
Not sure that will work out.

Re: Say No To Drugs Round concept.....
Is this going to turn into another misinformed thread on which vices are and aren't bad?
So tiresome, but...
Still better than reading about the virtues of tanking from cherry pickers.

Re: Say No To Drugs Round concept.....
I feel strongly about this, NO WAY! I would boycott.
The War On Drugs has been a dismal & ignorant failure, only making corruption & a dirty black market thrive, while harm minimisation goes out the window. Over a decade ago there was a crack down on ecstacy, LSD & Cannabis, so we get the cheap & nasty, make it in your backyard for cheap, Ice. Immensely more deadly, additive and psychosis inducing then the aforementioned. We also get a sharp increase in wanton alcohol abuse.
We should be looking at how the Dutch successfully (compared to us & the yanks) deal with it, without zero tolerance prohibition.
In regards to the unfortunate Philip Walsh murder. If someone chooses to stab their father & mother, regardless of what substance they're on, there's about two reasons for it. That their parents were abusive assholes (not evident in this scenario) or that person has serious deep seated psychological issues. One being a callous disregard for the life of a fellow human being.
Those issues would have existed before he touched drugs, the drugs removed the inhibitions, the killer was already there.
