Whipping Boy of the Year 2015
Only a couple of games back from injury and Sam Gilbert must have gained a lot of ground on Adam Schneider.

Love your humour in putting Raph on the list!!
Think you need to add good old Jason Blake to your list Sainternist, if Raph Clarke is on the list. Luv The Blake held it for years until Raph started to nudge him out!

Re: Whipping Boy of the Year 2015
Gee, tough choice there Sainternist!
Any chance of putting Milan Faletic on the list? He is my all-time "best debut / most disappointing" nomination.
I'll go with Schneids for his consistency this this season. Couldn't get on the park last year, has been fit and consistently among our best players this year. Which means he has been consistently whipped by "supporters" on here that want him gone just to satisfy their own misconceptions!

I voted for Raph. Billy actually gets a lot of love for a guy who cant mark it. Raph just got suspended at Beaumaris so he deserves a vote for letting them down.

Re: Whipping Boy of the Year 2015
Can't beat the consistency argument Trev......................... but don't dismiss Gilbert, with only a couple of games played, as Sainternist says, he is looming as a threat to Schneids.Trev from the Bush wrote:

He only has to have a few more glaring turnovers next week and SS will go into meltdown and the 'whipping' of Schnieds will be a long lost memory.
Gilbo will be up for trade and the Saints will get anything from the #1 draft pick for him to no trade at all, as no club will want him on their list.

Don't forget Barry Breen - he was the whipping boy (of 1981)

Most Saintsational posters would probably get stuck into Breeny for his inability to kick a goal late into time on in the '66 Grand Final.
I for one have never got over it!

Re: Whipping Boy of the Year 2015
Raph Clarke was criminally underrated amongst most AFL fans IMO.
So much focus on his run downs and fumbles but i reckon he was one of the most selfless and courageous players we had... Frequently got to contests and spoiled, tackled, pressured. Certainly RL rated him.
Still Raph drew so much negative attention to himself it was hard to not knock him by the end.
Lost every bit of flair from his game by the end

I agree, harshly judged by his own fans.skeptic wrote:Raph Clarke was criminally underrated amongst most AFL fans IMO.

I thought he was the most courageous and selfless footballers we had.
He was recruited as a forward and had to learn a defensive style of game never seen before.
I think he was given one game on the forward line and shanked his first kick at goal [ which a lot of players do ], never to be tried there again.

I wonder how many of the heroes who post here would risk having an epileptic fit for a game of football.

I have a signed number 16 jumper and a well worn signed Saints cap.
Proud to say Raph is one of my all time favourite Saints players. He has a great knowledge of the game and was very poorly treated by so called supporters and members.

Be hard to go past Saad or Schneider for this year.
Saad was re-retired after round 3, never to appear again.
And apparently Schneider has NEVER been any good & is now just a money grabbing, fat alcoholic who is swindling the club.

Gilbert is coming hard. One game and he cost us the win apparently.

Me thinks it's all tongue in cheek stuff/humour by Sainternist, to put it back onto those negative nellies who like to pot certain players relentlessly. You'll see by most responses they are in a humorous vein.thejiggingsaint wrote: got to hand it to some Saints fans. Gee it's a pity Big Mart is no longer posting................ he was the first one to launch tirades of #@##### on Raph Clarke, branded him as lazy when he first came to the Saints and that was only on his practise match form!!!!
