Why not Dangerfield?
Most probably wouldn't come but…
Why not offer 6 year 6mill deal.
2 x 1.5, 2 x 1, 2 x.5
We have the salary cap now
He will be 26 in April 2016, 28-29 when we are planning to be good.
Prime leader.
Need to have a real crack if we want to attract them….
Can't think of anyone better….

Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Agree, people are melting down over Sloane because he barracked for the saints 10 years ago but would cost us a fortune … while Dangerfield is a FA, exactly the same age, a far superior player and would cost us nothing outside of salary.
Unfortunately Dangerfield has been destined for Geelong for a long time.

Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Maybe he is a chance? The media can be blindsided on occasion (ie. Mitch Clarke to Melbourne) and I can't imagine why either party would want to leak it.

Re: Why not Dangerfield?
It never hurts to put up an offer. Geelong forced to pay out an extra $500 000 a year would be nice for us anyway. Same as watching the GWS boys re-sign -must just pressure their cap a little more each time.
Re: Why not Dangerfield?
worth having a dip. everytime my 6yo son hears that adelaide beat anyone he says "we'll that's because they have danger".

Re: Why not Dangerfield?
With the Cats having lost to the Dees today (and their chance of playing finals this year now greatly diminished), I reckon that their willingness to pay more $$$ to Dangerfield will have increased.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Offer him some cash which im sure they have already done but don't waste time on it. I think the Saints have made their position clear on FA this year anyway. its a year to early.

It's the old " I know I'm leaving what's the point I'm over it can't wait till I'm playing in my new team ". year.stevie wrote:He isn't exactly in career best form now in an average team so not sure how he will get better over the next few years.

Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Yeah heard that aswell, I'd like to think we are more appealing (closer to a premiership)plugger66 wrote:Saints94 wrote:Anyone been hearing that Lachie Henderson wants to play for us?

Publicly they have I suppose.plugger66 wrote:Offer him some cash which im sure they have already done but don't waste time on it. I think the Saints have made their position clear on FA this year anyway. its a year to early.
Why is it a year too early?
We will need an A grade 28-29 year old in 2018, where will our experience come from if we don't import?
Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Can't stand him.
Loves himself SO dearly.
Hope we don't.
If we do, guess I need to get over it.

Really SK. And you liked BJ. Nothing I have heard from Dangerfield suggests he isn't anything but a good bloke like most people are.
Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Who Dangerfield? He is in amazing form this year and practically keeping Adelaide in games by himself! In the past 6 weeks he has been near on unstoppable and probably one of best players in the competition behind maybe Fyfe and dare I say it Dusty (over that period).stevie wrote:He isn't exactly in career best form now in an average team so not sure how he will get better over the next few years.
Unless you just choose to let you football knowledge be dictated to via a meme you read on facebook which has him sitting on the bench. I'd suggest to watch some Crows games to appreciate just how good he has been.

Re: Why not Dangerfield?
Saw him first hand v Suns and he was quiet. Haven't seen many other Crows games but it just seemed he hadn't been his usual damaging self until perhaps last weeks game.
What I'm trying to say is, sure, he's a good player but he's never gonna drag the Crwos into a GF is he? And he isn't gonna get better as a player IMO.
