Next 10 games are highly winnable!
Very few injuries, reserves in great form - our 2015 final campaign is shaping up nicely.
Check out the fixture, it's very plausible - I'd say we could win all 11 but conventional wisdom would suggest it's best to rest senior guys and first yearers for the Eagles away.

All 22 games are winnable, especially on paper.

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
I doubt we will win all of the 11 games, we will have a hiccup somewhere, probably 9 which will get us in the lower part of the eight.
Not bad, win a final, and gear up for a top four next year. Probably got the team to do it now and don't need the high picks that the rebuilding clubs require to be like us.
What?

And some people on here thought that we'd only win one or two games this year, some of you no games.
How bad do you feel now?

I felt we may win 2-4 games and hoped for six.
Don't feel bad at all, extremely excited with the brand of football the Saints are attempting to play, especially the pressure.

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
I never go to any game "expecting" to win. However, I ALWAYS believe that we can. I still believe six wins for the year ( as a minimum) can still be achieved. On the other hand, we have a young team, still learning the ropes, so anything can happen. I think this season thus far has been great! Go Saints! ( to hell with the rest)

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
I can't keep up with the schizophrenia on here…
We have a win (or two) against a bottom 4 side and suddenly we are top 4 material.
Alternatively after we get smashed by a top 8 side we aren't going to win another game for the year.
I would suggest another couple of wins for the year would be a good result, I can see 3 more potentially which would be a massive improvement on last year.
10 out of our next 11 games are against teams that are above us on the ladder. Let's not have a massive tantrum when we lose our last 6 against very good sides.

Good luck with that. Our last 6 will in all probability be losses.dragit wrote: 10 out of our next 11 games are against teams that are above us on the ladder. Let's not have a massive tantrum when we lose our last 6 against very good sides.
Watch the howling at the moon and gnashing of teeth when that happens.
However from someone who had a vey gloomy outlook on this year, hoping that I saw improvement in effort, I am pleasantly surprised at the effort and pressure this team is bringing to the table.
We have had perhaps two poor games, against Carlton and Collingwood. The rest we have been competitive even in losses like Adelaide where we got our structure clobbered by late withdrawals and injuries.
I am satisified in the direction that the coaching staff is taking the group. Tackling pressure is excellent. The rest will come in time.

Player management has been excellent.
Goddard and Lee may get a gig soon, plus Paddy may swing a game or two.
Bring it on.

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
I just hope our 30+ stars can keep getting the job done that way Bombers/Blues nab a top liner in Parish but we get the ultimate finish of 9th!!
That's the main game..... isn't it??

I think we can finish about 6th if we win our next 10. It would be stupid to aim for 9th if we can finish 6th. I think we will finish 14th myself but we should aim as high as we can. Like Hardwick said on Friday sides down the bottom like us aren't going to attract FA. Well not the good ones.

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
While we can win any game, IMO the more winnable ones this year are:
Dogs. They will be favourites, but we look likely having possibly our best team againts the Dogs. Though Billings may be out if the rumours are tue.
Dons. Wheels have fallen off big time, and we should have beaten them last time.
Dees.
Power: Are on flat batteries at present.
Roos. are also looking ordinary at present, and by te time we play them they will probably have no hope of making the finals.
Plus Giants have had some key injuries of late and particularly Mummy. He makes a big difference to their team. That should give us a sniff.
Unlikely to win all, but I expect to win some of these/

Giants are beatable without Mumford. They look vulnerable under heavy defensive pressure, something we're getting very good at.

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
We really could've beaten them in the season opener....and we should've lost against the bummers.....and if we'd beaten Carlton we couldv've been sitting on 7 wins..FQF wrote:Giants are beatable without Mumford. ....and I thought we'd win 2 or 3 games.......

Re: Next 10 games are highly winnable!
We are guaranteed to play in September folks, simply because the draw has playing then. I said at the start of the year that if we won 5 games this year we would be doing well.
All our stats are up on last year, our percentage is some 10% higher than it was at this time last year and we are being competitive for parts of all our games.
We are capable of a few more wins, but, as long as we are competitive and maintain what we are doing now for the rest of the season, mission accomplished for this season.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

I'm not fussed at all bout wins - competitiveness I want
You see it often, lower sides who were being pumped by better teams by 10 goals previously.... start to bring that gap down to 4-5 goals and the wheel turns
I look forward to the day we smash Hawks/Sydney et al but we have a ways to go yet and some stocking up of talent still to do...
