Jason Cripps in Hospital
Ex Saint, and Port Power list manager collapsed on morning run today and is in hospital. Not sure how serious. Hope he is ok.

Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
Sheesh, that guy was so unlucky when he played ALF with his back. He could have been something special if his body had been good to him. It sounds like it's still not looking after him. Hope he gets over it quickly, he's a pretty tough unit to go through what he did.

I thought it was his hammy.
I note that Jamie Cripps (no relation) was BOG for the Weagles today.

He is also high up in tackles, like 6th in the league and also gets a heap of goals. I think Marto's Joe the goose stuff might have been a bit wrong.

Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
Just a little heads up re the heart. I've recently been diagnosed with a condition called AF - basically an irregular heartbeat. It can be fixed by shocking the heart back into normal rhythm (which I'm getting done this Friday under a light general) and is quite common as people age (still only a few percentage chance of getting it). Left untreated, it can cause blood clots and strokes in rare circumstances. It can also cause rapid heartbeat of over 250 beats a minute during exercise and then heart attack risk is big time. If monitored, you can live fairly normally.
Quick easy thing to do is check your pulse on your wrist. If it's a nice regular beat all is good, if not, visit a GP and get yourself checked out.

Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
Cheers. It's a simple procedure takes only about half an hour with about 80% success rate. I'm one of the lucky ones. Too many don't get a second chance and sadly Cripps may be one of them. Tragic.Old Mate wrote:+1Goose is king wrote:Good luck for Friday saintspremiers

He also maybe 100% ok.
Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
I hope he recovers. Wasn't he the one that tore his hamstring off the bone and then decided to pedal through Europe as rehab? Or was that Leigh Fisher? I can't remember.plugger66 wrote:saintspremiers wrote:Cheers. It's a simple procedure takes only about half an hour with about 80% success rate. I'm one of the lucky ones. Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
Yep Cripps had massive hammy issues and missed about 3 years of footy. Such a shame, he was an enormous talent.

Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
He missed three years with hamstring problems. His first game back was Roo's first game and Blight's last. He kicked the first goal of the game from memory.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

A great guy. Can only wish him a very speedy recovery.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!
Re: Jason Cripps in Hospital
Would hold some sort of record as playing three consecutive AFL games under three different coaches?
Alves, Blight & Thomas. Missed Watson entirely.

When Mike Sheahan says he holds "grave fears" then it is very very serious. I am shocked and saddened. I only saw him last Friday week and commented on how fit he looked.

ort Adelaide's list manager Jason Cripps has been successfully taken out of an induced coma after suffering a heart attack in Perth.
Cripps collapsed on Saturday during a social run and was placed in an induced coma at the Royal Perth Hospital.
The AFL club said in a statement that, after 48 hours in a serious but stable condition, Cripps is now responsive to family and friends.
"He remains in hospital in a stable condition," the statement read.
"The club sincerely thanks media for the sensitive and respectful handling of this story and asks media to continue to respect the privacy of Jason and his family during this time."
The 38-year-old Cripps played 60 senior matches for St Kilda between 1996 and 2002, including the 1997 grand final against Adelaide.
