Re: armo hit
Armo looks more a leader each week.
This is a massive breakout season for him in all aspects of his game.

Guilty IMO. But under the new rules will probably be a $1,000 fine. It was uncalled for.

Re: armo hit
Tell me you're taking the piss?? If Armo is even charged for that tackle I will never attend an AFL match again, it was a perfect tackle on a guy who had the ball, it wasn't high, it wasn't late, it was plain perfectsaintspremiers wrote:Guilty IMO. Re: armo hit
The tackle of Armo's against Masten was perfectly legal & perfectly executed. He was front on to the player & took him out. In the Eagles forward line, Shenton was front on to his player whilst trying to turn & spoil the ball, makes light contact with his arm......Free kick!
Re: armo hit
Havent seen it but it is simple. If he misses the head then no issue, if he gets the head then a real issue. So did he miss the head?

I see that now. Shocked Curly started a thread on them. 3 wins for the year is a good start.

Re: armo hit
Imagine running into a brick outhouse with an ARMITAGE SHANK inside.
Surely the players have to start calling him 'Shanky'

Re: armo hit
How the f does Burgoynes tackle beat out armitages into AFLs top 10 plays of the round. If anything Burgoynes was a free kick for tackling without the ball classic AFL

Re: armo hit
There was an earlier incident that Armo could be in strife over though... early 1st quarter, reasonably forceful head high contact front on.
The Masten one was 1000% legal.

The WC guy did duck into that one though - a little bit...

Re: armo hit
The one in the first quarter was also against Masten, I think. This is probably the one the OP was talking about.Animal Enclosure wrote:There was an earlier incident that Armo could be in strife over though... early 1st quarter, reasonably forceful head high contact front on.

I think he's in trouble - it didnt look good at the time. Yes, Masten ducked his head, but Armo didn't attempt to get low to get the ball at all.
Maybe he can be given a fine under the "don't rub out good players" rule introduced this year.
