An Upset on the Cards?
You bet it is!
We have been quite competitive against WCE in recent time. Matched them well in Perth early last year. Unfortunately met them at Docklands after our team became a hapless bunch for the remainder of the season, so we don't need to reflect on that one too much.
Despite their solid start, WCE have played just the one game at Docklands this season, and in that match they lost to the Bulldogs by 10 points. I think our 2013 encounter might be still fresh in the minds of the current players who felt the sting of it that day. Sure, Roo is a big loss, but I'm almost of the belief, in not having him in the side, it puts a different spin on things and the opposition can potentially drop its guard in taking their usual focus off him being a factor. I have a good feeling about tomorrow.
GO SAINTS!

Re: An Upset on the Cards?
It's certainly not out of the question. We now have the ability to take it to the mid table teams if we're on our game for 4 quarters. Will take a few great performances, particularly from: Armo, Mav (tagger), Bruce (goals), Fisher (stop Kennedy).
Re: An Upset on the Cards?
Grab the $5 then. Do a few multi's around us and get a big payback and then drink heavily.

Don't think I'd be drinking heavily, just maybe share a bottle of wine with the missus over a nice dinner. It could certainly pay good dividends though.plugger66 wrote:Grab the $5 then. Do a few multi's around us and get a big payback and then drink heavily.

Bet heavily and drink even more if we win. And anyone around the SS6 tomorrow night Kiss are playing, well some sort of Kiss and we can celebrate a win.

Won't be an upset to me if we win. I'm confident about our boys in most games now. Playing a mid tier interstate team at Etihad ain't upset material for me

Re: An Upset on the Cards?
Over this financial year and last, we have a 67% record against West Australian teams at Etihad, with an average winning margin of just under 10 goals.
Odds of $5 seem generous on that basis.

How have we gone against WCE over that period?

$5.80 with the TAB,$6.40 on betfair....
Think we should be more around the $3.50 myself, West Coast playing above themselves, bubble is due to burst

Re: An Upset on the Cards?
Have you optimists noticed Roo is out?
Have you also seen that Lonie, who can easily kick 2 goals a game, is also out??
Add to that Delaney out who is a mainstay of our defence.
The big in is Joey, but we are minus on the changes overall this week
Yep, $6 odds is about right. Be happy if we win a quarter or two

Oh, don't be so logical!!
We can dream can't we.
I'm so confident, I've put $7.50 on for the win!!

Re: An Upset on the Cards?
There has been a lot of that "bubble-bursting" this year with teams getting so hyped so quickly (Adelaide, Collingwood, Hawks etc) with the saturation media coverage. I could see Weagles getting ahead of themselves and getting a little reality check from our physical approach but I think the outs mean its very hard to win. But as always this year really looking forward to the game. Go saints!jonesy wrote:$5.80 with the TAB,$6.40 on betfair....
